Do not substituteany other charger.Before using battery charger, read allinstructions and cautionary markings on (1)power supply, (2) battery charger, (3)battery pack, and (4) product using battery.Charge only Bosch rechargeable batterieslisted on page 5. Other types of batteries mayburst causing personal injury and damage.Do not place metal objects on the chargeror between battery and charger. Metalobjects can heat up and increase the risk offire and personal injury.Do not place credit cards or other magneticdata carriers near the charger. Stored dataon these data carriers can be deleted.Charge battery pack in temperatures above+32 degrees F (0 degrees C) and below+113 degrees F (45 degrees C). Store tooland battery pack in locations wheretemperatures will not exceed 120 degrees F(49 degrees C). This is important to preventserious damage to the battery cells.Do not recharge battery in damp or wetenvironment. Do not expose charger to rainor snow. Water entering battery charger mayresult in electric shock or fire.Connect the Bosch power supply to anautomotive cigarette lighter socket only(nominal -12VDC voltage system).Connecting power supply to other voltagesource may result in electric shock or fire.Bosch power supply and charger aredesigned for use with each other only.Using them with other product may result inelectric shock or fire. Do not use power supply and charger inmarine (salt water) environments. The salt insea water is corrosive and can damage thepower supply and charger.Do not charge battery pack in explosiveatmospheres, such as in the presence offlammable liquids, gases or dust. Fire orexplosion may occur.Battery leakage may occur under extremeusage or temperature conditions. Avoidcontact with skin and eyes. The battery liquidis caustic and could cause chemical burns totissues. If liquid comes in contact with skin,wash quickly with soap and water. If the liquidcontacts your eyes, flush them with water for aminimum of 10 minutes and seek medicalattention.In case of damage and improper use of thebattery, vapours may be emitted. Ventilatethe area and seek medical help in case ofcomplaints. The vapours can irritate therespiratory system.Place power supply and charger on flatnonflammable surfaces and away fromflammable materials when rechargingbattery pack. Carpeting and other heatinsulating surfaces block proper air circulationwhich may cause overheating of the chargerand battery pack. If smoke or melting of thecharger or battery pack is observed, unplug thecharger immediately and do not use thebattery pack or charger. Contact customerservice immediately.Make sure cord is located so that it will notbe stepped on, tripped over, or otherwisesubjected to damage or stress. Damagedplug and cord may result in electric shock orfire.Disconnect the power supply and chargerby pulling the plug rather than the cord. Donot operate power supply and charger withdamaged cord or plug; have them replacedimmediately. Damaged plug or cord mayresult in electric shock or fire.Do not insert battery pack in charger ifbattery pack case is cracked. Usingdamaged battery pack may result in electricshock or fire.Do not disassemble power supply andcharger or operate power supply andcharger if it has received a sharp blow,been dropped or otherwise damaged inanyway. Incorrect reassembly or damage mayresult in electric shock or fire.Before each use, check the power supply,battery charger, cable and plug. ![Important Charging NotesIndustry Canadais detected, do not use the power supplyand battery charger. Never open the powersupply and battery charger yourself, take itto a Bosch Factory Service Center, orqualified serviceman only using originalspare parts. Incorrect reassembly may resultin electric shock or fire.Do not use attachments not recommendedor sold by Bosch. Using attachments notrecommended may result in electric shock orfire.Do not store battery pack in charger.Battery pack stored in charger over a longperiod of time could lead to battery packdamage and fire. Unplug power supply and charger fromoutlet before installation, storage,attempting any maintenance or cleaning.Such preventive safety measures reduce therisk of electric shock or fire.Keep the power supply and battery chargerclean by blowing compressed air oncharger vents and wiping the chargerhousing with a damp cloth. Contaminationmay result in electric shock or fire.Replace battery pack if a substantial dropin operating time per charge is observed.Battery pack may be nearing the end of its life.-3-1. The charger was designed to fast chargethe battery only when the battery temperatureis between 32˚F (0˚C) and 113˚F (45˚C). If thebattery pack is too hot or too cold, the chargerwill not fast charge the battery. (This mayhappen if the battery pack is hot from heavyuse). When the battery temperature returns tobetween 32˚F (0˚C) and 113˚F (45˚C), thecharger will automatically begin charging.2. A substantial drop in operating time percharge may mean that the battery pack isnearing the end of its life and should bereplaced.3. Remember to unplug charger during storageperiod.4. If battery does not charge properly: a. Check for voltage at outlet by plugging insome other electrical device. b. Check to see if outlet is connected to alight switch which turns power “off” when lightsare turned off. c. Check battery pack terminals for dirt.Clean with cotton swab and alcohol if necessary. d. If you still do not get proper charging,take or send tool, battery pack and charger toyour local Bosch Service Center. See “Tools,Electric” in the Yellow Pages for names andaddresses.Note: Use of chargers or battery packs notsold by Bosch will void the warranty.This device complies with Part 15 of the FCCRules and with Industry Canada license-exempt RSS standard(s).
