ACA-Digital Corp. 3 IntroductionTheWirelessLANConfigurationUtilityisapowerfulapplicationthathelpsyoutoconfigurethisWLANcardandmonitorthestatisticsofthecommunicationstatus.Unlikethestandardmethodofconfiguringthecardviatheoperatingsystemutili‐ties,thisapplicationpermitsthedynamicmodificationoftheconfigurationparame‐terswhilethecardisoperating.Italsooffersmoreconfigurationoptions.WeoffertheWirelessLANConfigurationUtilityforWindows®98SE/Me/2000/XP.Mini‐PCIWLANequipmenthasbeentestedandfoundtocomplywithlimitsforaClassBdigitaldevice,pursuanttoPart15oftheFCCrules.Theselimitsarede‐signedtoprovidereasonableprotectionagainstharmfulinterferenceinresidentialinstallations.Thisequipmentgenerates,uses,andcanradiateradiofrequencyenergy,andifnotinstalledandusedinaccordancewiththeinstructions,maycauseharmfulinterfer‐encetoradiocommunications.

ACA-Digital Corp. 7 Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Requirements ThisequipmenthasbeentestedandfoundtocomplywiththelimitsforaClassBdigitaldevice,pursuanttopart15oftheFCCrules.Theselimitsaredesignedtoprovidereasonableprotectionagainstharmfulinterferenceinaresidentialinstalla‐tion.Thisequipmentgeneratesusesandcanradiateradiofrequencyenergyand,ifnotinstalledandusedinaccordancewiththeinstructions,maycauseharmfulinter‐ferencetoradiocommunications.However,thereisnoguaranteethatinterferencewillnotoccurinaparticularinstallation.Ifthisequipmentdoescauseharmfulin‐terferencetoradioortelevisionreception,whichcanbedeterminedbyturningtheequipmentoffandon,theuserisencouragedtotrytocorrecttheinterferencebyoneormoreofthefollowingmeasures:‐Reorientorrelocatethereceivingantenna.‐Increasetheseparationbetweentheequipmentandreceiver.‐Connecttheequipmentintoanoutletonacircuitdifferentfromthattowhichthereceiverisconnected.‐Consultthedealeroranexperiencedradio/TVtechnicianforhelp.INFORMATION:ThisTransmittermustnotbeco‐locatedoroperatinginconjunctionwithanyotherantennaortransmitter.Anychangesormodifications(includingtheantennas)madetothisdevicethatarenotexpresslyapprovedbythemanufacturermayvoidtheuser’sauthoritytooper‐atetheequipment.EndProductLabelingThistransmittermoduleisauthorizedonlyforuseindeviceswheretheantennamaybeinstalledsuchthat20cmmaybemaintainedbetweentheantennaandusers.Thefinalendproductmustbelabeledinvisibleareawiththefollowing:
ACA-Digital Corp. 8 “ContainsTXFCCID:UVZWMIR‐168”EndProductManualInformationTheusermanualforendusersmustincludethefollowinginformationinapromi‐nentlocation“IMPORTANTNOTE:TocomplywithFCCRFexposurecompliancerequirements,theantennausedforthistransmittermustbeinstalledtoprovideaseparationdistanceofatleast20cmfromallpersonsandmustnotbeco‐locatedoroperatinginconjunctionwithanyotherantennaortransmitter.”Thisdevicecomplieswithpart15oftheFCCrules.Operationissubjecttothefol‐lowingtwoconditions(1)Thisdevicemaynotcauseharmfulinterferenceand(2)Thisdevicemustacceptanyinterferencereceived,includinginterferencethatmaycauseundesiredoperationIMPORTANTNOTE:Intheeventthattheseconditionscannotbemet(forexamplecertainlaptopcon‐figurationsorco‐locationwithanothertransmitter),thentheFCCauthorizationisnolongerconsideredvalidandtheFCCIDcannotbeusedonthefinalproduct.Inthesecircumstances,theOEMintegratorwillberesponsibleforre‐evaluatingtheendproduct(includingthetransmitter)andobtainingaseparateFCCauthorization.ThisdeviceisintendedonlyforOEMintegratorsunderthefollowingconditions:Theantennamustbeinstalledsuchthat20cmismaintainedbetweentheantennaandusers.Aslongasaconditionaboveismet,furthertransmittertestwillnotberequired.However,theOEMintegratorisstillresponsiblefortestingtheirend‐productforanyadditionalcompliancerequirementsrequiredwiththismoduleinstalled(forexample,digitaldeviceemissions,PCperipheralrequirements,etc.).
