XC-1XT SERIESDescription: XC-1XT provides unsurpassed wide area unsecured outdoor instruion detection.Combining Microwave & PIR detection technologies the XC-1XT ensures excellent coverage withoutnuisance alarms. Dual outputs allow the use of a single detector for annunciation and security,or allow multiple functioning via different control device assignments. Outdoor Dual Technology Intrusion Detector 40FT L X 56 W (12m x 17m)For best results install the XC-1XT at a mounting height between 6.6 ft.(2.0m) and 8.2 ft. (2.5m). Mount the unit so it islooking into an area free of obstructions, do not mount the unit so it is looking directly at heating or cooling sources. Avoidviewing operating machinery or objects which have the potential for movement. Do not aim unit so it is looking at publicroad / pathways.Installation:Function Select SwitchPrior to re-attaching front cover to unit; Set PIR sensitivity, PulseCount, LED Enable, Detection mode, and 50/60HzFlourescent Light immunity setting (Selectable Switch 1,2,3,4,5, and 6) as desired. If the detector is viewing a narrow area, a PC setting of 4 should be avoided, as the small area may not allow enoughmovement to detect intruders. A PC of “4” is best suited for a wide open detection area. For High Security applications setPIR Sensitivity to “High Sensitivity” =(SW1 & 2 = 120% or 100%), this allows for a quicker detection at the edge of thedetection area. Animal Immunity characteristics are not available when a “High Sensitivity” setting is configured on theXC-1XT. Animal Immunity function is enabled by placing PIR Sensitivity at 60%. Use Microwave Sensitivity adjustmentpotentiometer to adjust Microwave sensitivity (Preset @ 50%). A properly adjusted MW will detect crossing movement justinside the protected area but not outside of the PIR coverage area.SW-5 allow for the selection of Dual-Technology (MW & PIR) or PIR only detection modes. A PIR only detection mode isuseful when there is operating machinery or exposed fans always active within the protected area.If the installation site is subject to severe vibrations (via close proximity to railroad tracks and /or large truck movement),ensure that the mounting point is on a riged surface. In some situations it may be necessary to place a piece of plywoodbetween the mounting surface and the XC-1XT detector to buffer wall movement.Walk-Test: Once installation and initial setup is complete, perform a full walk test to insure that the detection parameters are met, ifrequired make control adjustments to fine tune detection characteristics. In order to insure detection quality, the XC-1XTshould be tested routinely, with no more than a one year period between tests.Control Layout and Configuration:Terminal Configuration T T NC NO C NC NO C + - TAMPER ALARM 1 ALARM 2 SPARE POWERLED IndicatorsGreen = PIRRed = AlarmAmber = MWSwitch ONWire the XC-1XT to the control panel device using 18 to 24 AWG standard non-shielded wire, do not run wiring parallel toAC wiring. AAleph hereby declares that the XC-1XTEU and XC-1XTUK Intrusion Detector is in compliance with theessential requirements and other relevant provisions of Directive 1999/5/EC. The declaration of conformity maybe consulted at http://www.alepheurope.com/Testing and Maintenance:- INSPECTION: An inspection of this unit should be made periodically, consisting of, but not limited to all mounting, wiring and the condition of the interior components.- CLEANING: Clean the external plastic parts of this unit with a soft, damp cloth.- TESTING: This unit should be tested routinely for proper operation. At a minimum, operation should be fully checked yearly.- NOTES: This unit is designed to be incorporated into an overall alarm system. As it is part of the system ALEPH cannot assume responsibility for theft or damage if the system fails to operate. When installing this unit in a corner mountapplication, install screws into one side of thecase. Installing screws into both sides of thecase when walls are uneven causes the plasticcase to become distorted thus water can beallowed entry into the unit.Power Requirements 9.5-16 VDC, 12VDC Nominal Alarm Output Two Form C(NC/NO)outputs30 VDC/350mA Max.Current Draw 35 mA Max.
