Installing/Replacing the Batteries
CAUTION: Danger of explosion if battery is
incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the
same or equivalent type.
Handling the Remote Control
1. Squeeze and pull to release the battery cover
latch. You can remove the battery door with
your fingernails by using the spaces set back
in wall.
2. Match the polarity on the Lithium Cell with a
plus sign (+) on the battery tray.

Do not recharge, short circuit, disassemble,
heat the battery, or dispose the battery in
fire. Doing any of these things may cause the
battery to give off heat, crack, or start a fire.
Do not leave the battery with other metallic
materials. Doing this may cause the battery
to give off heat, crack, or start a fire.
When throwing away or saving the battery,
wrap it in tape and insulate; otherwise, the
battery may start to give off heat, crack, or
start a fire.
Dispose of battery in the proper manner,
according to federal, state, and local
regulations.
The batteries (battery pack or batteries
installed) shall not be exposed to excessive
heat source such as sunshine, fire or the like.
This product contains a CR Coin Cell Lithium
Battery that contains Perchlorate Material, so
that special handling may apply.
Connecting the AC Adapter
1. Insert the switch power adapter into 18V DC
IN
2. Insert one end of the adapter cable into the
end of the switch power adapter and the
other end into an electrical outlet only after
all other connections are completed.
WARNING! For optimal performance, use only
the supplied AC adapter.
l Ensure that power supply outlet matches with
the unit AC's input 100-240V~, 50/60Hz
before connection.
To avoid possible failure, read the following
instructions and handle the remote control
properly.
Do not drop or cause impact to the remote
control.
Do not spill water or any liquid on the remote
control.
Do not place the remote control on a wet
object.
Do not place the remote control under the
direct sunlight or near sources of excessive
heat.

Do not poke the battery with tweezers or
similar tools. Doing this may cause the

1. Select the appropriate dock adapter made
for your iPhone/iPod.
l Use one of the supplied dock adapters or your
own from the Apple Inc.
l An identification number is marked on the

3. Connect your iPhone/iPod. Make sure the
connector plug of unit is firmly inserted into
the connector port of iPhone/iPod.
Notes:
l Always set volume to the minimum when
connecting or disconnecting the other
equipment.
l When you connect your iPhone/iPod to unit,
make sure you insert it all the way.

It is recommended to use an appropriate
dock adapter to protect your iPhone/iPod.
2. Insert the dock adapter as illustrated. The
small slot at the dock adapter should be at
the backside.
a. Match the dock adapter tabs to the front
holes in the cradle.
b. Press the other side onto the cradle until
a click sound.

Charging an iPhone/iPod
The iPhone/iPod is charged while it is set on the
unit when the unit is powered on.
l The unit does not support iPod 3G (10/15/20/
30/40GB) charging mode.
l Make sure the AC adapter is connected to
the unit.
l The iPhone/iPod is charged regardless of the
sound source selected on the unit.
l See the iPhone/iPod instruction manual about
the details of iPhone/iPod charging.
Notes for Caring Your iPhone/iPod:
The connector plug is protected with a cover
when it is first purchased. Please remove the
cover before operating the unit.
This unit can only play the iPhone/iPod audio.
You can use the iPhone/iPod video function
and hear the audio but cannot play the
video.
Do not carry the System with iPhone/iPod
connected. You might drop it down or it
might cause damages to the connector part.
Do not touch or hit the iPhone/iPod terminal
pins or the connector pins directly. It might
cause damages to the connector part.
If the iPhone/iPod does not play correctly,
please update your iPhone/iPod software to
the latest version. - For details about
updating your iPhone/iPod, check on the
Apple web site .

and only connect the iPhone/iPod to this

Playing back via Bluetooth
Downloading the SoundFreaq App
We have developed an App to give you full
control from your iPhone/iPad while playing
audio over the Bluetooth wireless connection,
please visit the iTunes App store and
download the "SoundFreaq Remote" App
for FREE.
After you build a Bluetooth connection between
your iPhone/iPad and the Sound Platform, a
prompt will be displayed on your iPhone/
iPad asking you if you would like to download
our App, click "Yes" to download.
If you hold the PAIR button during the process
of pairing, the operation will be cancelled.

3. During this period, you can operate the mobile
phone, iPad or Bluetooth-enabled device to
pair with the unit within a 33 feet (10m)
range.
You can click "No" to choose not to download
the App and still play music via the
Bluetooth connection but you will have
limited control, we suggest you download
the App.
Please check the user manual of the iPad or
Bluetooth-enabled device with which you
are initiating pair to learn about Bluetooth
connection with any other devices.
4. Once the unit is detected and its name
"Sound Platform" appears on the display of
your iPad or Bluetooth-enabled device, key
in the default password "1234" if a prompt
requests it.
l You may change the device name on your
Bluetooth-enabled device after the pair is
successfully set up.
l The pair indicator starts blinking quickly to
indicate that the unit and your device have
put into the connection mode.
l When a Bluetooth connection is established
successfully, the indicator starts blinking
slowly.
l If the Bluetooth connection is completed in
the Bluetooth display, and a prompt chime
will sound.
5. Select Bluetooth mode by repeatedly pressing
the SOURCE button on the unit or remote
control.
6. Select the desired music and press "Play"
button on your device. The unit automatically
starts playing the audio.
l Try again above steps 2 to 5 if the Pair
indicator on the unit lights solidly.

l A "receiver" was set in the receiver storage
compartment at the factory.
l The Bluetooth connection can be completed
in standby mode or power-on mode.
l If your mobile phone supports A2DP protocol,
its music will play through the unit.
l You can build a Bluetooth connection with a
mobile phone, an iPad or any other Bluetoothenabled devices.

2. Press the PAIR button on the unit to put the
unit into the pair mode.
l The Pair indicator starts blinking at a fast rate.
l If the unit has previously linked with your
Bluetooth-enabled device, you only need to
turn on the unit and select the Bluetooth mode,
no further operation is needed. The Pair indicator
will blink at a lower rate. .

l The 2.4G wireless connection can be completed
in standby mode or power-on mode.
1. Press the " " button to power on the system
from standby mode.
2. Plug the supplied USB dongle into your device.
(for example, your computer)
4. Select 2.4G wireless sound source by repeatedly
pressing the SOURCE button on the unit or
remote control.

To expand your listening areas in other rooms,
install additional units (sold separately) possibly
in bedroom, kitchen and garage, or on the patio
as you prefer.

When a 2.4G wireless connection is established
successfully, the indicator starts blinking

6. Select the desired music and press "Play"
button on your device. The system starts
playing the audio automatically.
l Try again above step 5 if the Pair indicator on
the unit lights solidly.

connected to your device.
The pair indicator lights up when the unit is
powered on from the standby mode.

Similar to the pair method of "Building a 2.4G
Wireless Connection", each time you pair the
USB dongle with a new joining unit, you need
to hold the "Pair" buttons on the dongle and
unit at the same time until the link is
established. Select your desired audio source to
play, all the units you paired will sound at the
same time.
Upgrading Wireless Connection Mode
For SFQ-01 user, you can purchase a 2.4G wireless
receiver to upgrade the connection mode by
replacing the receiver located in the storage
compartment on the back of unit.
3. Set a new "receiver" into the storage compartment
as shown.
For SFQ-01W user, you can purchase a Bluetooth
receiver to upgrade the connection mode by
replacing the receiver located in the storage
compartment on the back of unit.

frequency (from 87.5 MHz to 108.0 MHz)
until you find the desired station.
Hold for more than one second to activate the Auto Scan function,
and then release the button. The frequency will be scanned
automatically until a radio station is found. Or press again to quit
search while searching.

Note: Position the antenna as far away as
possible from the AC adapter, a TV, or other
radiation source.
1. Plug the supplied FM antenna into the
FM.ANT jack located on the back of unit.
2. Press the "
" button to power on the
system from standby mode.
5. Use " "/ " " on the unit or remote control
to select the channel number (from 01 to 20)
to be set.
6. Press " " button again to store the frequency.
The selected frequency will then be stored
with the preset channel number. The display
will be switched automatically to channel
number display after a few seconds.

Connect an external device to the AUX IN jack
on the back panel of the unit using a stereo
mini plug cord (not supplied).
1. Turn the unit power on.
2. Set the volume to the minimum position.
3. Select AUX mode with the SOURCE button.

• Is the selected dock adapter compatible to your iPhone/iPod?
• Is the dock adapter properly mounted on the unit? Make sure to mount the
dock adapter properly.
• Is the connector plug of the unit firmly inserted into the connector port of
the iPhone/iPod?
