Exercise cautionwhen setting the volume on your system.•Keep drinks, rain, and other sources of moisture awayfrom your system. Besides damage to your system,moisture can cause electric shocks as with any elec-tronic device.Touchscreen•Do not touch the screen with any hard or sharp objects(pen, USB stick, jewelry, etc.) which could scratch thetouchscreen surface!•Do not spray any liquid or caustic chemicals directlyon the screen! Use a clean and dry micro fiber lenscleaning cloth in order to clean the touchscreen.•If necessary, use a lint-free cloth dampened with acleaning solution, such as isopropyl alcohol or anisopropyl alcohol and water solution ratio of 50:50. OPERATING RADIO MODEThe radio is equipped with the following modes:•FM•AM•SXM SiriusXM Satellite Radio (if equipped)Push the RADIO button on the faceplate to enter theRadio Mode. This service offers over 130channels of music, sports, news, entertainment, andprogramming for children, directly from its satellites andbroadcasting studios. OPERATING MEDIA MODEMedia Mode is entered by pushing the MEDIA button onthe faceplate located to the left of the display. AudioRefer to “Radio Mode” for adjusting the audio settings.Disc ModeIf equipped, the vehicle may have a remote disc playerlocated in the lower center console storage bin.Disc Mode is entered by either inserting a disc or bypushing the MEDIA button on the faceplate located to theleft of the display. Once in Media Mode, select “DiscMode.”Inserting Compact DiscGently insert one disc into the disc player following theillustration indicated on the player. The disc will auto-matically be pulled into the disc player and the disc iconwill illuminate on the radio display. If a disc does not gointo the slot more than 1.0 inch (2.5 cm), a disc mayalready be loaded and must be ejected before a new disccan be loaded.If you insert a disc with the ignition ON and the radioON, the unit will switch to CD/Disc mode and begin toplay when you insert the disc. The display will show thetrack number and index time in minutes and seconds.Play will begin at the start of track 1.Eject Button — Ejecting A DiscPush the EJECT button on the faceplate to eject the disc.If you have ejected a disc and have not removed it within10 seconds, it will be reloaded. If the disc is not removed,the radio will reinsert the disc but will not play it.A disc can be ejected with the radio and ignition OFF.4MEDIA MODE 31
USB/iPod ModeUSB/iPod Mode is entered by either inserting a USBJump Drive or iPod cable into the USB port, or bypushing the MEDIA button on the faceplate located to theleft of the display. Once in Media Mode, push the MEDIAbutton and select USB/iPod.Inserting USB/iPod DeviceGently insert the USB/iPod device into the USB port. Ifyou insert a USB/iPod device with the ignition ON andthe radio ON, the unit will switch to USB/iPod mode andbegin to play when you insert the device. The displaywill show the track number, and index time in minutesand seconds. Play will begin at the start of track 1.AUX ModeAUX Mode is entered by inserting an AUX device usinga cable with a 3.5 mm stereo audio jack into the AUXport, or by pushing MEDIA button on the faceplatelocated to the left of the display. Once in Media Mode,push the MEDIA button and select “AUX.”Inserting Auxiliary DeviceGently insert the auxiliary device cable into the AUXport. If you insert an auxiliary device with the ignitionON and the radio ON, the unit will switch to AUX modeand begin to play when you insert the device cable.Controlling The Auxiliary DeviceThe control of the auxiliary device (e.g., selecting play-lists, play, fast forward, etc.) cannot be provided by theradio; use the device controls instead. Adjust the volumewith the ON/OFF VOLUME rotary knob, or with thevolume of the attached device.32 MEDIA MODE
NOTE: The vehicle radio unit is acting as the amplifierfor audio output from the auxiliary device. Therefore ifthe volume control on the auxiliary device is set too low,there will be insufficient audio signal for the radio unit toplay the music on the device.Bluetooth ModeBluetooth Streaming Audio (BTSA) or Bluetooth Mode isentered by pairing a Bluetooth device containing musicto the Uconnect system.Before proceeding, the Bluetooth device must be pairedwith the Uconnect Phone to communicate with theUconnect system.See the “Pairing Procedure” in this manual for furtherdetails.Once the Bluetooth device is paired to the Uconnectsystem, push the MEDIA button located on the faceplate.Once in Media Mode, press the “Source” button on thetouchscreen and select “Bluetooth.”NOTE: For mobile phone compatibility and pairinginstructions, please visitUconnectPhone.com.4MEDIA MODE 33

Search for available devices on your Bluetooth enabledmobile phone.•Press the Settings button on your mobile phone.•Select Bluetooth and ensure it is enabled. Onceenabled, the mobile phone will begin to search forBluetooth connections.5. If No is selected, and you still would like to pair amobile phone, press the “Settings” button from theUconnect Phone main screen.•Select “Paired Phones” then press the “Add Device”button on the touchscreen.•Search for available devices on your Bluetooth en-abled mobile phone (see below). •A maximum of 2,000 contact names with six numbersper contact will be downloaded and updated everytime a phone is connected to the Uconnect Phone.•Depending on the maximum number of entries down-loaded, there may be a short delay before the latestdownloaded names can be used. Until then, if avail-able, the previously downloaded phonebook is avail-able for use.•Only the phonebook of the currently connected mobilephone is accessible.•Only the mobile phones phonebook is downloaded.SIM card phonebook is not part of the Mobilephonebook.•This downloaded phonebook cannot be edited ordeleted on the Uconnect Phone.
