To avoid clogging
pump and damage to shaft seal, do not pump water containing solids, foreign
material,
sand, silt, or abrasives.
Always have suction strainer installed when pump is operating. Failure to use strainer
may cause pump failure and
void warrant3'.
Clean strainer and flush out pump after each use.
Make sure all hose and pipe connections
in suction line are
tight. An air leak in suction line will prevent proper priming
and reduce performance
To prevent damage to pump materials, do not use pipe joint
compounds
on pump ports. Use only teflon tape or PlastoJoint-Stik* to seal threads.
Tighten all piping joints to pump hand tight +1-1/2 tums only.
Overtightening
may break pump and will void warranty.
This unit is not designed for applications
involving salt water
or brine! Use with salt water or brine will void warranty.

Piping
Both snction and discharge ports arc tapped for 1" NPT
(National Pipe Thread) threads. If using hoses, use hose
adapters. When pumping from lakes, streams or ponds, use
reinforced hose supplied with pump. Ordinary garden hose
will collapse and cause pump failure. Keep strainer with l_)ot
valve on end of suction hose. Inspect and clean strainer frequently (Figure 1).
NOTICE: An air leak in suction pipe may draw air in although no water leaks ()tit. Make sure there arc no air leaks
or air pockets in suction pipe.
