Thereader may be mounted to any surface, includingmetal.•  Drill two (2) 3/32-inch (2.5mm) holes approximately1 inch deep for mounting the reader.•  Drill a 5/8-inch (16mm) hole for the cable.•  Remove the snap-on cover from the reader andsecure the reader to the mounting surface.•  Route the cable from the reader and/or powersupply to the host. A linear type power supply isrecommended. Check all electrical codes for propercable installation.• For best operation, the drain wire should bedisconnected at the power supply end of the cables.•  For the cable connection to the Panel - Use Alpha#1299C or equivalent.•  Test the operation of the reader. The LED will then turn red. Thisindicates that the microcontroller is operatingproperly.•  Present an ID card to the reader.
