TheViVOpayVP6300isdesignedtodeliverMSR,EMV,andcontactlesspaymentacceptancein
unattendedpaymentscenarios,suchasParking,Fueling,ATM,Ticketing,andPaymentKiosks.
Throughtheintegrated,high‐contrastcolordigitaldisplay,customerscanbeguidedtotap,insert
orswipetocompletetransactionsusingMasterCardPayPass,VisaVCPS,AmericanExpress
ExpressPay,Discover.Theunitsupportsallpopulardigitalwallettechnologies,includingApple
Pay(includingAppleVAS),AndroidPay,GoogleSmartTap,andSamsungPay.

TheViVOpayVP6300allowsforcredit/debitcardpurchasesusingContactlesstechnology.
Presentthecard/phoneincloseproximitytothefrontportionofthemodule.Presentthe
card/phonesothatmaximumsurfaceareaisparalleltotheantennaarea.Theunitshouldbeep
andallfourgreenLEDsshouldilluminatebrieflytoindicateasuccessfultest.
Thisteststheantenna'sabilitytoreadtheContactlesstestcard.Ifunsuccessful,therewillbeno
reactionfromthereader.IfyoucanconnecttheVP6300toatabletorlaptopandrunthe
UniversalSDKDemoprogram("UDemo"),youcanissueaCTLS(contactless)StartTransaction
commandandseeresultscomebackinthelogpaneofthedemoUI.
4. InstallationPoints
TheVP6300isdesignedtobemountedonametalsurfaceandinreasonablycloseproximity
toanyinternalmotorsandelectricaldevicesthatmaybeoperatinginsidethehostmachine.
However,theunit(likeallNFC/RFIDdevices)issusceptibletoRFandelectromagnetic
interference.Itisimportantthattheunitnotbemountednear(within3or4feet)large
electricmotors,computerUPSsystems,microwavetransmitters,anti‐theftdevices,radio
transmitters,routers,andsoon.
CloseproximityoflargemetalobjectstotheRF‐emittingendoftheNFCantennacangreatly
reducetherangeoftheantenna.
Tieallcablesneatlywithnyloncable‐tiesandroutethemsothattheyareinaccessibleand
invisibletocustomers.Labelthecableendsas"host,""ViVOpay"and"power,"tosimplify
connectiontestingorcomponentreplacement,particularlywhenuntrainedindividualsmight
beinvolved.
Testtheinstallationusingatestcardtoperformanend‐to‐endtransaction.Thefrontbezel's
lightsshouldilluminate.Evenifthetransactionisdeclined(asitshouldbewithatestcard),it
willproveconnectivityallthewaythroughthesystem.Ifpossible,thestoremanagerorsome
otherresponsiblepartyshouldtesteachVP6300onaregularbasis(perhapsatthestartof

6. FirmwareUpgrade
TheVP6300canhaveitsfirmwareupgradedinthefieldusingeitherserialorUSBinterfaces.
Preparation
Toupdatethenewfirmwareyouwillneed:
• PCwithavailableserialorUSBport
• VP6300withaserialdatacableoraUSBcableattached
• Firmwarefiles(includingBootLoaderfiles)forthedesiredfirmware
• Software(forthePC)thatwilluploadthefirmwarefilestotheVP6300
6.2 UploadingFirmwareforRS232orUSB
1. Movefirmwarefiles(*.fm)andbootloader.exefilesintointothesamefolder.
2. Check and confirm device is correctly connected to the power source and RS‐232/USB
connection.
3. IfRS232istheinterfacechoice,thenpleasecloseallsoftwarethatisusingRS‐232
communication.
4. Run the bootloader utility, choosing communication type and parameters according to the
connectioninterface.
Forserialinterface,choose“COM”andBaudRateof19200(default).
ForUSBinterface,choose“HID”andverifyVIDdisplaying0ACD.
5. Click the “Load” button ‐ the firmware will be loaded into the device. When “Firmware
successfully downloaded” appears on the utility, then the firmware has been successfully
installed.TheUtilitymaybeclosedatthattime.
