Connect the power plug to the AC wall socket. Press on the system to turn on the main unit. Or press on the remote control to turn on power. Note Do not use any AC adapter other than the one included with this unit. Installing the antenna Connect the radio antenna into FM antenna terminal. Connect the other end of the radio antenna to outdoor FM radio antenna. Place the radio antenna where FM signal is strong. Installing the application Visit Play StoreTM on your AndroidTM Smartphone. Search for DS-N10. Download and install the application on your AndroidTM smartphone. Pairing the application and the main unit through Bluetooth Go to Wireless & networks settings in your AndroidTM smartphone. Go to Bluetooth settings. Search for and select DS-N10. Enter 0000 for PIN. Run the application. Note The application might not work in some AndroidTM smartphones depending on specifications, e.g. AndroidTM OS version. 10 Using the system Charging devices Smartphone Connect your smartphone into the docking connector. It is recommended that you use the AndroidTM smartphone that has a micro USB port. Make sure that the micro USB port faces downwards. Otherwise, your AndroidTM smartphone may not be charged. Some devices might not be charged. Note Protective case for the smartphone may keep the battery from being charged. 11 Using the system Preparing music files Smartphone Portable music player Pair your smartphone with the main unit via Bluetooth. Plug one end of the 3.5 mm stereo cable into AUX IN port of the main unit. Turn on the application and tap Bluetooth Streaming to play preferred music files. Connect the other end of the cable to the external sound system. USB flash drive Insert the USB flash drive to the USB port. Turn on the application and tap USB Host to play preferred music files. Note • Supported file formats include MP3 and WMA. • After playing music from the USB flash drive, remove the USB flash drive in the stop mode or the standby mode. 12 Using the system Main menu Application Remote control Run the application on your AndroidTM smartphone. Tap ON/STANDBY in the main screen. Tap Bluetooth Streaming, USB Host, AUX in, or FM. Press to turn on the main unit. Press or under INPUT SELECT and select Bluetooth Streaming, USB, FM or Aux In. Press to play or pause the current song. Press or to move to the previous or next song. 13 Using the system Listening to music - Smartphone, USB Application Remote control Press Press or under INPUT SELECT and select Bluetooth Streaming or USB. to turn on the main unit. Music Player for Bluetooth Streaming and USB Host Main unit Run the application on your AndroidTM smartphone. Tap Bluetooth Streaming, or USB Host. • To select a song in the list, tap • Tap or and tap a song. to listen to the previous or next song. Press Press the FUNC button to change sound source and set to Bluetooth Streaming or USB. Music will play as you change sound source. Press + or - to adjust the volume. Press the FUNC button for three seconds and press - or + to move to the previous or next song. After a few seconds, you can adjust the volume by pressing + or -. • Tap on the screen to pause the playing song. Tap on the screen again to resume the song. 14 to turn on the main unit. Using the system Listening to music - Aux In Application Remote control Note Connect the device to Aux In jack on the rear side of the unit before use. Run the application on your AndroidTM smartphone. Tap AUX In. Tap and adjust sound effects for your preference. Press to turn on the main unit. Press or Press the 3D SOUND, FLAT, EQ1, or EQ2 button for your preference. Press or under INPUT SELECT and select AUX in. to adjust the volume. Main unit Press Press the FUNC button to change sound source and set to AUX in. Music will play as you change sound source. Press + or - to adjust the volume. to turn on the main unit. 15 Using the system Listening to music - FM radio Application Remote control Press to turn on the main unit. Press or 16 under INPUT SELECT and select FM. Press or to move to the previous or next preset channel. Press Press or or to select the channel manually. to adjust the volume. Run the application on your AndroidTM smartphone. Tap FM in the main screen. Main unit Tap or to tune to your favored radio frequency. Or drag or to search for channels. When a channel is found, the frequency stops changing. Press Drag the frequency to the bar on the bottom of the screen to assign the frequency to your preferred channel. You can assign up to 18 channels. Tap FM1 and select another to tune to the preset channel. Press the FUNC button to change sound source and set to FM. Press the FUNC button for three seconds and press or + to move to the previous or next preset channel. After a few seconds, you can adjust the volume by pressing + or -. Tap ST to change sound system. Select ST for stereo or MONO for mono. to turn on the main unit. Using the system Setting sound effects Application Tap the sound setting for your preference. • Tap USER EQ and adjust sound settings for EQ1 and EQ2. To adjust EQ1 or EQ2 setting, tap EQ1 or EQ2, adjust setting and tap SAVE. To reset current settings, tap RESET. • Tap EQ1 or EQ2 to listen to music in the preset sound settings that you adjust in USER EQ. • Tap 3D SOUND to listen to music in 3D sound. • Tap FLAT to listen to music with no change to the current sound setting. • Tap Play to change the playing option. It is not available if music is being played from a portable music player. Sound effects in Bluetooth Streaming, USB and AUX in Turn on your AndroidTM smartphone and run the application. Tap on the top right side of the screen while you listen to music through Bluetooth Streaming, USB host, or AUX in. Remote control Press Press the 3D SOUND, FLAT, EQ1, or EQ2 button for your preference. Press the repeat or shuffle button for your preference. to turn on the main unit. 17 Setting Clock Application 18 Turn on your AndroidTM smartphone and run the application. Tap SETTING in the main screen and tap Clock. Time in sync with your AndroidTM smartphone is displayed. Time is set to the same with that of the main unit. Main unit Press Press the CLOCK button of the remote control. Time of the main unit is displayed for a few seconds. to turn on the main unit. Setting Alarm Application Turn on your AndroidTM smartphone and run the application. Tap SETTING in the main screen and tap Alarm. Tap or to adjust time for alarm and tap assign a weekday or tap Once. Tap to and tap Next. 19 Setting Select the sound source for alarm and tap Next. Adjust the volume for alarm, tap ON or OFF next to Alarm button, and tap Save. The alarm of the main unit will work as you set. Note Alarm works only when you set the main unit to the standby mode (Clock Mode). 20 Setting Auto Power Down (A.P.D) Sleep mode Application Application Tap SETTING in the main screen and tap A.P.D. Tap or to select one of the following options for the Auto Power Down. • Off: The Auto Power Down function will not work. • Clock Mode: When there is no input into the main unit for two hours, the main unit turns to the clock mode. Pairing with the application through Bluetooth is maintained. • Power Save Mode: When there is no input into the main unit for two hours, the main unit turns to the Power Save mode. Tap Sleep in the main screen. Sleep time changes from 15 minutes to 120 minutes. Remote Control Press the SLEEP button of the remote control. When you press the button, time changes from 15 to 120. Info Application Tap SETTING in the main screen and tap Info. Model name and the application version are displayed on the screen. 21 Troubleshooting Guide If a fault occurs, run through the table below before taking your unit for repair. If the fault persists, attempt to solve it by switching the unit off and on again. If this fails to resolve the situation, consult your dealer. Under no circumstances should you attempt to repair the receiver yourself. This could void the warranty. Symptom No power No sound Poor FM reception Remote control does not operate. Cannot operate with the application and no sound via Bluetooth connection. 22 Possible cause Remedy The power adapter is disconnected. Connect cord securely. Poor connection at AC wall socket is dead or off. Check the outlet using a lamp or another appliance. The master volume is adjusted too low. Adjust the master volume. The MUTE button is press to “ON.” Press the MUTE button to cancel the muting effect. Incorrect selection of input source. Select the desired input source correctly. Incorrect connections between the components. Make connections correctly. No antenna is connected. Connect an antenna. The antenna is not positioned for the best reception. Change the position of the antenna. Batteries are not inserted or exhausted. Replace the batteries. The remote sensor is obstructed. Remove the obstacle. Pairing failed between your smartphone and DS-N10A. Check the pairing status in your smartphone’s setting menu.
