Keep these instructions withyour Use & Care Guide forfuture reference.IMPORTANTSAFETY INSTRUCTIONSInstallationof this range must conform with local codes or, inthe absence of local codes, with the National Fuel Gas CodeANSI Z223.1--1atest edition when installed in the UnitedStates.When installedina manufactured (mobile) home, installationmust conform with the Manufactured Home Construction andSafety Standard, Title 24 CFR, Part 3280 [formerly theFederal Standard for Mobile Home Construction and Safety,Title 24, HUD (Part 280)] or, when such standard is notapplicable, the Standard for Manufactured Home Installations,ANSI/NCSBCS A225.1, or with local codes.This range has been design certified by CSA International. Aswith any appliance using gas and generating heat, there arecertain safety precautions you should follow. You will findthem in the Use & Care Guide, read it carefully.• Be sureyour range is installed and grounded properlyby a qualified installer or service technician.•This range must be electrically grounded inaccordance with local codes or, in their absence,withthe National Electrical Code ANSI/NFPA No .70---latest edition when installed in the United States.See Grounding Instructions on page 5.•Before installing the range in an area covered withlinoleum or any other synthetic floor covering, makesure the floor covering can withstand heat at least90°F above room temperature without shrinking,warping or discoloring. Do not installthe range overcarpeting unless you place an insulating pad or sheet of1/4-inch thick plywood between the range and carpeting.•Make sure the wall coverings around the range canwithstand the heat generated by the range.Do not obstruct the flow of combustion air at theoven vent nor around the base or beneath the lowerfront panel of the range. Avoid touching the ventopenings or nearby surfaces as they may become hotwhile the oven is inoperation. This range requires fresh airfor proper burner combustion.Never leave children alone or unattendedinthe area where an appliance is in use. As childrengrow,teach themthe proper,safeuse ofallappliances. Never leavethe ovendooropen when the range is unattended.Stepping, leaning orsitting on the doors ordrawers of this range can result in serious injuries andcan also cause damage to the range.Do not store items of interest to children in thecabinets above the range. Children couldbe seriouslyburnedclimbingon the range to reach items.To eliminate the need to reach over the surfaceburners, cabinet storage space above the burnersshould be avoided.Adjust surface burner flame size so it does notextend beyond the edge of the cooking utensil.Excessive flame is hazardous.Do not use the oven as a storage space. This createsapotentially hazardous situation.Never use your range for warming or heating theroom. Prolonged use of the range withoutadequateventilation can be dangerous.Do not store or use gasoline or other flammablevapors and liquids near this or any other appliance.Explosions or fires could result.Reset all controls to the "off" position after using aprogrammable timing operation.FOR MODELS WITH SELF-CLEAN FEATURE:Remove broiler pan, food and other utensils beforeself-cleaning the oven. Wipe upexcessspillage.Followthe cleaning instructionsin the Use &Care Guide.Unlike the standard gas range, THIS COOKTOP ISNOT REMOVABLE. Do not attempt to remove thecooktop.DO NOT MAKE ANY ATTEMPT TOOPERATETHE ELECTRIC IGNITION OVEN DURING ANELECTRICAL POWER FAILURE. RESET ALL OVENCONTROLS TO "OFF" IN THE EVENT OF A POWERFAILURE.The electric ignitor will automatically re-ignite the ovenburner when power resumes if the oven thermostat controlwas left in the "ON" position.When an electrical power failure occurs during use, thesurface burners will continue to operate.During a power outage, the surface burners can be lit witha match. Hold alightedmatch to the burner, then slowly turnthe knob to the LITE position.
