This is a kind of 2-in-1 Portable Wi-Fi Scanner, it works as handy scanner when use it alone and it also work as an automatic feeding scanner when use with
docking station. Via DIRECTSCAN Pro apps, it can scan & Wi-Fi transfer the image to mobile devices directly (iOS & Android).
With batteries & Micro SD card, it can work without PC. When work with PC, it is no need for Micro SD card & batteries. DIRECTSCAN software included and it
provides these functions of Picture Direct, OCR Direct, BCR Direct, Scan and OCR.
In this way, it can input these pictures into your needed software and do the OCR conveniently.
It can be previewing after you completed scanning. It is also very convenient to carry and you can use it to scan almost anything. It can be connected to iPad
& Android tablets to load scanned pictures directly.

5 Introduction on assembly & disassembly
5.1 How to load the scanner on the docking station
1. Put docking station on the table and the front upward,
2. One hand takes scanner and keep scanner front upward;
4. Press the right end slight and then you will hear “Ding” sound after connection completed.
5.2 How to disassemble scanner from docking station
Using your right hand to press the button the docking station right side and another hand takes scanner from right side, then take it out from the docking station.
Attentions:
1. When you use handy scanner + docking station powered by 2. Correct paper feed orientation.
USB cable, it is necessary to connect double plug into USB slot.
6. Introduction on Micro SD card capacity

7.1 Introduction on TFT Display

7.2 How to set Menu
Load scanner with Micro SD card & batteries and press “ ” for 2s to start.

7.2.1 Color setting

Remark: 1. File locking or unlocking can only work after Micro SD card formatting;
7.2.5 Formatting setting
Note: after formatting, all the data in the Micro SD card will be lost, please make sure before formatting

7.2.6 Time setting

7.2.7 RESET setting
Under Wi-Fi mode, press “ ” button into “ ” select: “ ” stands for not formatting, “ ” stands for formatting Micro SD card.
7.2.8 Previewing and deleting picture
During the standby status, you can press “ ” button to preview the scanned image and press “ ” or “ ” to view whole images.

8 Introduction on connecting with Tablets
8.1 Connect to iPad to read SD card
1. Switch on the scanner.
2. Connect the scanner to the iPad by USB cable & *iPad connection kit.
3.The saved pictures in the SD card will be displayed automatically.
8.2 Connect toAndroid Tablets to read SD card
1. Switch on the scanner.
2. Connect the scanner toTablet via USB cable.
3. DCIM folder will show on the screen, double click to enter the folder for loading pictures.
Attention:The scanner can only work with iPad &AndroidTablet when it is detached from Docking.
9. Operations for DIRECTSCAN APP
9.1 Download APP
Download “ ” DIRECTSCAN app from App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android) and setup.
9.2 How to connect scanner Wi-Fi
1. Press “ ” button and switch on scanner. Then press “ / ” button to select Wi-Fi mode, red Wi-Fi sign “
and Wi-Fi sign “ ” will turn into green in 30 seconds. Now, Wi-Fi mode starts;

9.3 Wi-Fi Direct
Click “ ” DIRECTSCAN app to start, green Wi-Fi sign “ ” means Wi-Fi connected, press “ ” button can view all the documents saved in Micro SD
card, press “ ” button to enter Wi-Fi Direct operation, press “ ” button to start scanning and the scanned image can transfer to mobile devices directly.
After scanning, you can save or do own editing.

9.4 Wi-Fi Repeat
press “ ” button to enter Wi-Fi setting “ ” interface and choose a A/P Router Wi-Fi, input password and connect. Then go to mobile device Wi-Fi setting
interface and connect the selected A/P Router Wi-Fi.Click “ ” button the scanner Wi-Fi ID will show on the interface to connect. Now, both scanner & mobile

9.5 Download & save pictures
1. Use DIRECTSCAN app.
2. Open DIRECTSCAN app and click to connect.
3. Select you needed pictures and touch to download.
4. the downloaded images will be listin ,select the image for
editing directly.Pressing ,you can make relevant editing on
the selected images,such as delete,remove etc. Click to
select image and the selected image will be showing . Then
Pressing button and save image to your target location.
5. Click to create new folder and name.
6. Select your target folder and press button to save.
9.6 Editing picture
1. Select the pictures for editing.
2. Save editing image After editing completed, press to save
image.

9.8 Wireless Security Setting
1. Switch Mode Button on the scanner to setting mode(Left).
2. Press button and it will show the interface of Wireless Security Settingas below image.
Then you can set SSID & Password here.

2. After refreshing, Wireless Lan “magic scan-XXXXXXXX” will
turn up and the last 8 numbers are the same as the last 8
number of MAC Address on your scanner. Double click the
Wireless Lan and press the default password “12345678”
to connect.

3. Open the explorer to type 10.10.1.1 and switch the button to Wireless Lan setting mode after connecting. Press the Settings menu on the
left top of page to enter and submit the setting after modifythe SSID & password. The newly SSID & password will take effect when you
resume the scanner.
Remark: Password should be 8 numbers.
11 Introduction on connecting with PC
11.1 Scanning to Micro SD card
Insert Micro SD card and plug in USB cable (no need for batteries).
Press “ ” button about 2 seconds, power on, then blinking in the lower part of the TFT, press or quickly to shift to
to Micro SD card.
Handle the scanning refer to 8.2 & 11 description
11.2 Mass storage mode
Just insert Micro SD card into the scanner and no need to setup any driver. It works with Windows and Mac system as below:

11.3 Scanning with DIRECTSCAN software
11.3.1 Setup the included software
Insert the CD into the CD driver, double click the setup in the disc and choose the language you will use, click the next button until the
installation completed.

3 Scan and OCR
a) Scan pictures
Click “Start/Stop Scan” button, press and hold the “Scan” button of scanner
The scanned picture will be inserted to this software directly, then you can
click “Save Image” button to save the scanned picture to your computer.
b)Open pictures from computer Click “Open Image” button to open a picture
from your computer, the picture will be inserted to this software directly.
c) OCR
Click “Preprocess Image” button to preprocess the picture, the image will
be change to Black and White picture as right picture :

12 Operations & Attentions for Handy Scanning without + docking
12.1 Power by batteries
11.1.1. Load the Micro SD card & batteries according to these signs on the scanner and press for 2s to open.
11.1.2. Set your required color, resolution, JPG/PDF and Encryption.
11.1.4. Put the scanner on the document and ensure the documents including the valid scanning width.
11.1.5. Press “ ” and the TFT display shows . It goes into scanning status.
11.1.6. Hold the scanner and slide according to your required direction until scanning completed.

Remarks:
1. When scanning, if the speed is too fast or speed not in constant, there will be signal, and there will be in the TFT. You should stop scanning and scan once
in constant.
2. During the scanning process, you would better to slide the scanner levelly and or it will make the image in bad conditions.
3. When scan a document, you should keep the scanner on the document properly without any tilt or big gap.

13 Introduction on Scanner + Docking station
13.1 Introduction on the application of handy scanner + docking station
Attention:
The batteries and USB cable should be connected when the scanner works with docking station
If you use the docking station batteries to supply power, the scanner can work whether you load the batteries on the scanner or not .
It only works when you plug the USB cable into the docking station. However, it can not work if you plug the USB cable into the
scanner for PC connecting or power supply.
13.1.1 The ways to scan without plugging in USB cable
Load the scanner on the docking station according to the point 6;
Load 6xAA batteries on the docking station;
Set the menu according to point 8;
Adjust the paper tray according to the document width;
Put the scanning image upward and push it into the paper tray;
The automatic feeder will run the paper after the scanner detects and you can release the paper for auto scanning;
The automatic feeder will stop work after the paper goes out and the scanning has completed. After that, the picture number will
be increased by 1 piece on the TFT display and it means the scanned image was stored.
13.1.2 Usage when insert into USB
Please refer to 9, and please note below two point:
1. Insert the USB cable into the USB slot of docking station, not the scanner;
2. When scanning, do not press button, paper can be feed automatically, please refer to paper auto feed method 12.1.
13.1.3 Paper feed orientation when scanning with the docking station
When scanning with the DIRECTSCAN software, paper feed orientation should be followed as below, then scanning Image will be correct

13.2 Attentions on the application of scanner + docking station
Please pay much attention to the below points when you use the scanner with docking station.
Not all the paper can go through the scanner and please see the below listed types:
