If in doubt, consult a qualied electrician.If your ceiling fan does not have an existing UL-listed mounting box, then install one using the following instructions:ƑDisconnect the power by removing the fuses or turning off the circuit breakers.ƑSecure the outlet box directly to the building structure. Use the appropriate fasteners and materials. The outlet box and its bracing must be able to fully support the weight of the moving fan (at least 35 lbs.). This will enable you to remove the mounting bracket (A).ƑRoute the wires exiting the top of the fan motor assembly (E) through the center of the canopy ring (GG). Make sure the slots on the canopy ring (GG) are on top.ƑInsert the ball/downrod (B) through the canopy (C) and slide the decorative motor collar cover (D) onto the end of the ball/downrod (B). ƑRe-tighten the setscrew (HH) on the motor collar (II) on top of the fan motor assembly (E), by turning it clockwise.56;,!This fan is equipped with a safety tab (JJ). Should the setscrew (HH) ever become loose while the fan is running in reverse, the safety tab (JJ) will engage and stop the fan from falling.*(<;065! 8Assembly - Close-To-Ceiling MountƑRemove three of the six screws and lock washers (PP) (every other one) securing the motor collar to the top of the fan-motor assembly (E).ƑRoute the wires exiting the top of the fan-motor assembly (E) through the rubber gasket (DD) aligning the holes in the rubber gasket (DD) with the three screw holes in the fan-motor assembly (E).ƑRoute the wires exiting the top of the fan-motor assembly (E) through the canopy ring (GG), and the canopy (C) (make sure the slot openings for the canopy ring and canopy are on top. Place the canopy (C) over the collar (II) at the top of the motor (E).ƑAlign the mounting holes in the canopy (C) with the screw holes in the motor (E) and fasten using the three screws and lock washers (PP) (removed previously). Tighten the mounting screws securely.Routing the wiresPreparing for mounting 21ƑRemove canopy ring (GG) from the canopy (C) by turning the ring counter-clockwise until it unlocks. ƑRemove the mounting bracket (A) from the canopy (C) byloosening the two canopy screws (EE) located in the “L shaped” slotsƑRemove and save the two canopy screws (FF) in the round holes. If necessary, use leveling washers (not included) between the slide-on mounting bracket (A) and the outlet box. The at side of the slide-on mounting bracket (A) should face toward the outlet box, as shown.ƑSecurely tighten the two mounting screws (1).ƑCarefully lift the fan-motor assembly (E) up to the slide-on mounting bracket (A).ƑInsert the ball portion of the ball/downrod assembly into the socket of the slide-on mounting bracket.ƑTurn the ball/downrod assembly clockwise until it is seated with the tab of the slide-on mounting bracket aligned with the slot in the ball.ƑIf using close-to-ceiling mounting, hang the fan on the hook provided by utilizing one of the holes at the outer rim of the ceiling canopy (C).12>(9505.! To reduce the risk of re, electric shock or personal injury, mount to an outlet box marked “Acceptable for fan support of 35 lbs. (15.9 Kg) or less,” and use the screws provided with the outlet box.A11>(9505.! The hook (XX) is only to balance the fan while making the electrical connections. Failure to hang as shown may result in the hook (XX) breaking, causing the fan to fall. The hook must pass from the inside to the outside of the canopy.56;,! 10Making the electrical connectionƑThe fan comes with 78 in. lead wires for use with an extended ball/downrod assembly. If using the 6 in. ball/downrod assembly (B) provided, you can cut the lead wires to your desired length (no shorter than 12 in.) This will make extra room in the canopy (C), if you do not wish to cut the wires, you will need to neatly wrap them. ƑConnect the fan motor green wires to the household green or bare wire using a wire connecting nut (BB).ƑConnect the fan motor white wire to the household white wire using a wire connecting nut (BB).ƑConnect the fan motor black wire to the household black wire using a wire connecting nut (BB).ƑSecure each wire connecting nut using electrical tape. ƑTurn the wire connecting nut (BB) upward and push the wiring into the outlet box (LL).304769;(5;! Use the wire connecting nuts (BB) supplied with your fan. Secure the connectors with electrical tape and ensure there are no loose strands or connections.56;,! The fan comes with 78 in. lead wires for use with an extended ball/downrod assembly. ƑHold the blade (G) with both hands close to the blade bracket (F) and press the blade (G) down rmly. Ensure the key-slot holes are properly seated on the blade arm posts.ƑWhile still holding the blade (G) down with both hands, rmly slide the blade (G) away from the fan-motor assembly (E) until the blade (G) engages in the locking mechanism. Make sure the steel locking mechanism at the rear of the blade bracket (H) springs upward and snaps into place against the edge of the blade (G) indicating a secure connection.ƑVisually inspect the top of the blade bracket (F) to ensure the locking mechanism is securely in place.ƑRepeat for the remaining blades (G).EGFAssembly - Installing the Switch CupƑRemove one screw (TT) from the black bracket below the fan motor assembly (E) and loosen, but do not remove the other two screws.ƑPush the switch cup (H) up to the fan motor assembly (E) so the two loosened screw heads t into the keyhole slots. Turn the switch cup (H) clockwise to secure.ƑRe-install the screw (TT) that was removed in step 1.ƑMake sure all the screws are rmly tightened.Installing the switch cup1ETTH56;,! Your fan blades are reversible. Select the blade side nish which best accentuates your decor.
14Attaching the light kit tter assembly1*(<;065! To reduce the risk of electric shock, disconnect the electrical supply circuit to the fan before installing the light xture.56;,! Notice the location of the fan’s slide switch. This is the switch used to change the fan’s directional rotation. For more information on the operation of this switch, see Operating Your Fan on page 16.56;,! This light kit cannot be transferred to another fan. Assembly - Attaching the LightsƑRemove the three screws (OO) on the switch cup cover of the light kit tter assembly (I).ƑConnect the wires from the light kit tter assembly (I) to the wires from the switch cup by connecting the molded adaptor plugs together (blue to black, white to white). Carefully tuck all wires and splices into the switch cup.ƑAlign the three holes in the switch cup cover of the light kit tter assembly (I) with the three holes in the switch cup.ƑRe-install the three screws (OO) that were removed in rst step to secure the light kit tter assembly (I).IOOH
15 HOMEDEPOT.COM/HOMEDECORATORSPlease contact 1-800-986-3460 for further assistance.Assembly - Assembling the Fan Without the Light KitInstalling the bulbs and attaching the glass bowl2ƑRemove the nial nut (P), bottom cover (O), hex nut (N), and rubber washer (M) from the threaded nipple of the light kit tter assembly (I).ƑWith power off, install the three CFL Light bulb, (14-Watt maximum included) (J) by screwing into the light bulb sockets.ƑPosition the glass bowl (K) over the threaded nipple.ƑRe-install the rubber washer (M), hex nut (N), and bottom cover (O) to the threaded nipple to secure the glass shade properly.ƑRe-install and tighten the nial nut (P).*(<;065! Do not over tighten the hex nut, overtightening the hex nut may cause the glass to break.Assembly - Attaching the Lights (continued)Assembling the fan without the light kit1ƑRemove the three light kit mounting screws (PP) on the side of the light kit tter assembly (I). ƑIn order to use the fan without the light kit, remove the switch cup cover (R) from the light kit tter assembly (I) by removing the center hex nut inside the switch cup cover (R), and then thread the switch cup cover off of the threaded nipple on the top of the light kit tter assembly (I).ƑPress the plastic plug (CC) (provided) into the center hole of the switch cup (I).ƑPosition the switch cup cover (R) onto the switch cup and reinstall the light kit mounting screws (PP).JEKOPMNRPPHCC>(9505.! To prevent breaking of the glass and to avoid personal injury, hand tighten all parts in order, DO NOT use any tools to tighten nut or nial.
16Operating Your Fan and Remote ControlLearning processThe remote control must be paired with the fan’s receiver piror to use. To pair the remote and fan receiver, follow the steps below:ƑEnsure the main power source for the fan is off prior to beginning the pairing process.ƑTurn the main power source for the fan on (wall switch and/or breaker box).ƑWithin 30 seconds of turning the fan’s AC power ON, press and hold the button for 5 seconds to enter the learning function. Once the receiver has detected the set frequency, the down light of your fan, if applicable, will blink twice. There is no indication if your fan is not equipped with a light.56;,! After the AC power is on, do not press any other button on the remote control before pressing the “FAN ON/OFF” button. Doing so will cause the procedure to fail.56;,! The remote control can learn multiple receivers. Make sure no other receivers are operating during the learning process. If using non-dimmable bulbs, use a ballpoint pen or small screwdriver to set the switch to ON to disable the dimming function. If using dimmable bulbs, set the switch to DIM to enable the dimming function.56;,! This fan includes non-dimming CFL bulbs. If you would like to use dimming function, please install dimmable light bulbs (60-watt maximum incandescent bulbs)

Fan button. - Press and release the button to turn the fan on or off.ƑPress and hold the button for 5 seconds to enter the learning function.ƑFan on. The fan memory function will resume the speed set on the fan prior to the power being turned off. The LED bar will display the current settings for 5 seconds after the button is released.ƑFan off. The fan memory function will store the current setting for the next time the fan is in use. 2. Speed functions+ button, increases the fan speedƑPressing and releasing the + button one time will increase the speed of the fan.
