ASSEMBLING AND PREPARING 13 Setting up the TV You can mount your TV to a wall or attach the stand if you wish to place the TV on an entertainment center or other furniture. Attaching the stand If you are not mounting the TV to a wall, use the following instructions to attach the stand. CAUTION yyWhen attaching the stand to the TV set, place the screen facing down on a cushioned table or flat surface to protect the screen from scratches. yyMake sure that the screws are fastened tightly. (If they are not fastened securely enough, the TV may tilt forward after being installed.) yyDo not tighten the screws with too much force; otherwise they may be damaged and come loose later. NOTE yyRemove the stand before installing the TV on a wall mount by performing the stand attachment in reverse. 4 EA M4 x 20 ENGLISH Stand Body Front Stand Base 4 EA M4 x 16 or 2 EA 2 EA Tighten the two of these four screws and the two Torx plus star head screws (provided as parts of the TV) to secure the TV. Tighten the two Torx plus star head screws with a star head driver bit (not provided as parts of the TV). 14 ASSEMBLING AND PREPARING Mounting on a table Securing the TV to a table Lift and tilt the TV into its upright position on a table. - Leave a 10 cm (4 inch) (minimum) space from the wall for proper ventilation. Fix the TV to a table to prevent from tilting forward, damage, and potential injury. Mount the TV on a table, and then insert and tighten the supplied screw on the rear of the stand. 10 cm (4 inches) 10 cm 10 c 10 cm Connect the power cord to a wall outlet. CAUTION yyDo not place the TV near or on sources of heat, as this may result in fire or other damage. ENGLISH Using the Kensington security system (optional) The Kensington security system connector is located at the rear of the TV. For more information of installation and using, refer to the manual provided with the Kensington security system or visit http://www.kensington.com. Connect the Kensington security system cable between the TV and a table. NOTE yyThe Kensington security system is optional. You can obtain additional accessories from your local dealer. WARNING yyTo prevent TV from falling over, the TV should be securely attached to the floor/wall per installation instructions. Tipping, shaking, or rocking the TV may cause injury. CAUTION yyMake sure that children do not climb on or hang on the TV. ASSEMBLING AND PREPARING Adjusting the angle of the TV to suit view (Depending on model) The swivel angle is adjustable. If no adjustment screw (M6 X 10) is used, the swivel angle is ±90°. Installing the adjustment screw in the B position will restrict the swivel angle to ±45°, and installing the adjustment screw in the A position will restrict the swivel angle to ±20°. Installing an adjustment screw in the A and B positions will restrict the swivel angle to ±20°. (Basically, only one screw (M6 X 10) is provided for fixing swivel.) 90˚ 15 Attaching the TV to a desk The TV should be attached to a desk so it cannot be pulled in a forward/backward direction, potentially causing injury or damaging the product. Consult with your local dealer for a wall mount that supports the VESA standard used by your TV model. Carefully attach the wall mount bracket at the rear of the TV. Install the wall mount bracket on a solid wall perpendicular to the floor. If you are attaching the TV to other building materials, please contact qualified personnel to install the wall mount. Detailed instructions will be included with the wall mount. We recommend that you use an LG brand wall mount. 10 cm (4 inch es) 10 cm 10 cm ENGLISH Insert and tighten the eye-bolts, or TV brackets and bolts on the back of the TV. - If there are bolts inserted at the eye-bolts position, remove the bolts first. Mount the wall brackets with the bolts to the wall. Match the location of the wall bracket and the eyebolts on the rear of the TV. Connect the eye-bolts and wall brackets tightly with a sturdy rope. Make sure to keep the rope horizontal with the flat surface. CAUTION yyMake sure that children do not climb on or hang on the TV. NOTE yyUse a platform or cabinet that is strong and large enough to support the TV securely. yyBrackets, bolts and ropes are optional. You can obtain additional accessories from your local dealer. 10 cm Make sure to use screws and wall mounts that meet the VESA standard. Standard dimensions for the wall mount kits are described in the following table. Otherwise electric shock may occur. yyIf you install the TV on a ceiling or slanted wall, it may fall and result in severe injury. Use an authorized LG wall mount and contact the local dealer or qualified personnel. yyDo not over tighten the screws as this may cause damage to the TV and void your warranty. yyUse the screws and wall mounts that meet the VESA standard. Any damages or injuries by misuse or using an improper accessory are not covered by the warranty. Install the power cord holder and power cord. It will help prevent the power cable from being removed by accident. Gather and bind the cables with the cable holder. Your remote control may look slightly different. and To install batteries, open the battery cover, insert batteries (1.5 V AAA) matching the ends to the label inside the compartment, and close the battery cover. To remove the batteries, perform the installation actions in reverse. CAUTION yyDo not mix old and new batteries, as this may damage the remote control. This remote uses infrared light. TIMER Turns the TV off in a set amount of time. PIP PIPCH+ PIPCH- SWAP PIP INPUT SAP DELETE Deletes letters and numbers. MUTE Mutes all sounds. ^ CH v Scrolls through the saved channels. PAGE Moves to the previous or next screen. REMOTE CONTROL PORTAL Displays and removes the interactive menu. Q.MENU INFO Views the information of the current program and screen.
