Preliminary RadioRA Car Visor Control Instructions 09/19/01Page 1 of 10Adding a Car Visor ControlThe Car Visor Control is a special type of Master Control. The System can have a maximum of12 Master Controls. For every 1 Master Control NOT used, a Car Visor Control may be used inits place.NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digitaldevice, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonableprotection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, usesand can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with theinstructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is noguarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does causeharmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning theequipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of thefollowing measures: Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. Increase the separation between theequipment and receiver. Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that towhich the receiver is connected. Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.CAUTION: Changes or modifications not expressly approved by Lutron Electronics could void theuser’s authority to operate this equipment.Step 1 Begin Control ActivationPress and hold the ACTIVATE CONTROLSbutton on any Repeater until the greenACTIVATE CONTROLS LED turns ON(approximately 3 seconds).Step 2 Activate ControlsTo add a Car Visor ControlPress any button.• All LEDs will flash, then• Top and bottom row will flash alternatelyMiddle row of LEDs will turn ON when theMaster Control has been activated.Car Visor ReceiverStep 3 Complete Car VisorControl ActivationPress and hold the ACTIVATE CONTROLSbutton on any Repeater until the greenACTIVATE CONTROLS LED turns OFF(approximately 3 seconds).The green ACTIVATE CONTROLS LED onALL Repeaters will turn OFF. The MAIN orAUXILIARY LED will remain on.
Preliminary RadioRA Car Visor Instructions 09/19/01Page 2 of 10Programming PreparationsAssigning the Lights Column of Buttons asROOMS or SCENES on your Car Visor ControlThe right most column of buttons on a Car Visor Control can be programmed to be either ROOMor SCENE buttons.Step 1 Begin ROOM/SCENEAssignmentSimultaneously press and hold the 3rd,5th,and ALL OFF buttons in the right mostcolumn until an LED in the right mostcolumn of the Car Visor Control which youare programming begins to flash(approximately 3 seconds).Step 2 Changing ROOM/SCENEAssignmentsPress the 1st button in a column to makethat column a ROOM column, or press the2nd button to make it a SCENE column.Step 3 Changing the closuretype for the Input buttonsBoth CCI’s can be independently selectedas Momentary or Maintained closures.Continued on next page.

If a CCI is setas Maintained, its LEDs will be ON.To change the setting to Maintained, pressand hold the CCI button until the LED turnsON.To change the setting to Momentary, pressand hold the CCI button until the LED turnsoff.Step 4 Complete ROOM/SCENEAssignmentSimultaneously press and hold the 3rd, 5th,and ALL OFF buttons in the right mostcolumn until the LEDs stop flashing(approximately 3 seconds).Step 5 Label columnsApply the supplied ROOMS or SCENESlabels to the space provided over the rightmost button column.

Preliminary RadioRA Car Visor Instructions 09/19/01Page 5 of 10Step 3 Assign a Dimmer,Switch, or GRAFIK Eye ControlUnit to the button.Notes:• Multiple Dimmers, Switches, or GRAFIKEye ® Control Units can be assigned to abutton.• Controls must be assigned to a Car VisorControl button while its LED is flashing.Assign Dimmers or Switches to the CarVisor Control button by turning the ControlsON.Assign a GRAFIK Eye ® Control Unit to theCar Visor Control button by changing theselected GRAFIK Eye ® scene.If you assign the wrong Dimmer, Switch, orGRAFIK Eye ® Control Unit to the Car VisorControl button, turn the Dimmer, Switch, orGRAFIK Eye ® Control Unit OFF to unassignit.Note: GRAFIK Eye ® Control Units willautomatically turn on to scene 1 onceassigned.Step 4 Select a Button2-3 until all buttons are programmed. Whenfinished, proceed to Step 5.Step 5 Complete assigningDimmers, Switches, or GRAFIKEye® Control Units to buttonsSimultaneously press and hold the 2nd and4th buttons in the right most column until allLEDs begin to flutter (approximately 3seconds).

Preliminary RadioRA Car Visor Instructions 09/19/01Page 7 of 10Programming a Car Visor TransmitterThe Car Visor Control can learn a maximum of 7 Car Visor Transmitters.Step 1 Begin Learning aTransmitter to the ReceiverPress and hold the LEARN button(approximately 3 seconds) on the Car VisorReceiver until the LED turns on.Step 2 Select the ReceiverButton to be learned to theTransmitter ButtonPress and hold the Receiver button(approximately 3 seconds) that theTransmitter button will be learned to until thecorresponding LED turns on. If the ALL ONbutton is pressed, the right most column ofLEDs will flash upward. If the ALL OFFbutton is pressed, the right most column ofLEDs will flash downward.
Preliminary RadioRA Car Visor Instructions 09/19/01Page 8 of 10Step 3 Learn the TransmitterButton to the ReceiverPress and hold the Transmitter button(approximately 3 seconds) until the LED ofthe selected Receiver button flashes for 3seconds. If the transmitter is learned to theALL ON button, the LEDs in the right mostcolumn will rapidly flash upward for 3seconds. If the transmitter is learned to theALL OFF button, the LEDs in the right mostcolumn will rapidly flash downward for 3seconds.The Transmitter button may be learned toany one of the ROOM/SCENE, ALL ON,ALL OFF, Input, Output, or both FULL ONand FLASH buttons.The learned receiver button flashes for 3seconds before turning off.The receiver button turns off indicating thatthe transmitter button has been learned tothe receiver button.To verify that the Transmitter Button hasbeen learned to the Receiver Button, pressthe Transmitter button again. Thecorresponding Receiver button LED willbegin to flutter indicating that the Transmitterbutton is learned to the Receiver button.To unlearn a Transmitter button, repeatSteps 2 and 3 for the desired button(s).Step 4 Select and learn the nextTransmitter Button to the ReceiverButtonRepeat Steps 2 and 3 for any remainingTransmitter buttons to be learned toReceiver Buttons. Proceed to Step 5 whenall Transmitter buttons have been learned.Step 5 Select the nextTransmitterRepeat Steps 2-4 for any remainingTransmitters. Proceed to Step 6 when allTransmitters have been activated.
