1Please Read Before InstallingDesigner-Style RF Slim-Button KeypadsHRD-5KP, -5RL, -10KP, -10RL120 V   , 0.5 A, 50/60 Hz Installation InstructionsOverviewThe HRD-5KP, -5RL, -10KP, and -10RL keypads arefor use with HomeWorks systems. The keypad buttonsare programmed with a personal computer using theHomeWorks Utility. Up to 32 keypads, each with a unique address, can beassigned to each HomeWorks RF Processor. HRD-5KPHRD-10KP HRD-10RLHRD-5RLImportant NotesCodes: Install in accordance with all local and nationalelectrical codes.Environment: Ambient operating temperature: 0-40°C, 32-104°F, 0-90% humidity, non-condensing.Indoor use only.Wallplates: Lutron Claro®and Satin ColorsTM wallplatesare recommended for best color match and clean aes-thetic appearance. Do not paint controls or wallplates.Cleaning: To clean, wipe with a clean damp cloth. DONOT use any chemical cleaning solutions.Wallboxes: Lutron recommends using 3-1/2 in. (89 mm)deep wallboxes for easier installation. RF Device Placement: RF Keypads must be locatedwithin 30 feet (9 m) of an RF Signal Repeater or an RFProcessor. RF Keypads will not function until they are addressedand programmed. See the HomeWorks Utility onlinehelp.

Turn power OFF at fusebox or circuit breaker.Danger - Locate and remove fuse or lock circuitbreaker in the OFF position before proceeding.Wiring with power ON may result in personalinjury.2. Prepare wires. When making wire connections, fol-low the recommended strip lengths and combina-tions for the supplied wire connectors. Note: Wireconnectors provided are suitable for copper wireonly. Small: Strip insulation 3/8 in. (10 mm) for 14 AWG (2.5 mm2). Strip insulation 1/2 in. (13 mm) for 16 AWG (1.5 mm2).Use to join one 14 AWG supply wire withone 16 or 18 AWG (1.0 mm2) controlwire.3. Wiring: See Wiring Diagram (page 3).4. Push all wires back into the wallbox and loosely fastenthe control to the wallbox using the keypad mountingscrews provided. Do not pinch the wires.5. Attach Lutron Claro®or Satin ColorsTM wallplateadapter and wallplate. a. Loosely install keypad mounting screws.b. Tighten wallplate adapter mounting screwssnug.c. Tighten keypad mounting screws untilwallplate adapter is flush to wall (do not over-tighten).d. Snap wallplate onto wallplate adapter, andverify that buttons are not submerged.e.
