The following safety instructions and precautions should be observed during normal
use, service and repair.
Do not change anything regarding the prox reader or the installation
procedure.
Always switch off the power (by disconnecting the power plug) before
you remove the cover.

The flexdesk can be used for checking out and/or in books and cd‟s. A prox 13.56MHz
reader is pre-installed inside the desk. The prox is connected to a pc inside a flexdesk.
The pre-installed software Bibliocheck4Selfservice can be configured to operate in
checkin, checkout or combi mode. The software can connect to the library management
system (LMS) over the SIP2 or NCIP protocol. An integrated ticket printer can be used
to issue tickets to a patron.
This document describes the hardware and software installation for a flexdesk.
The following items are included:
1x [A] flexdesk with pre-installed embedded pc, touchscreen, PROX 13.56MHz
transceiver
1x [B] 2M UTP network cable
1x [C] USB keyboard
1x [D] USB mouse
1x [E] Power cable with European connector

The flexdesk is pre-installed with all required hardware and software. The hardware
only needs to be connected to a power source, and to the network over a UTP cable.

1. Connect the power cable [E] to the power connector on the back of the flexdesk.
2. Connect the UTP network cable [A] to the UTP connector on the back of the
flexdesk that is labeled „ PC‟ .
3. Switch on the power of the flexdesk by pushing the red power switch.
4. The PC inside the flexdesk will automatically start when power is applied to it.
5. If the screen stays black, only the screen must be turned on manually. This can
be done by pressing the power button on the right side of the screen ( )
The software running on the flexdesk is Bibliocheck4Selfservice. Refer to the manual
for this software package for more information about the installation and configuration
of this program.
