This Directive applies to electrical and electronicproducts placed on the EU market after 1 July 2006, with various exemptions, includingan exemption for lead solder in network infrastructure equipment. Alcatel-Lucentproducts shipped to the EU after 1 July 2006 comply with the EU RoHS Directive.EU REACHOn June 1, 2007, European Regulation No 1907/2006 on the Registration, Evaluation,Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) entered into force. Under REACH,companies operating in the EU may face certain obligations as manufacturers, importersand/or downstream users.Alcatel-Lucent complies with the current requirements of REACH. In particular, Article33 of REACH requires suppliers to inform the recipients and consumers if an articlereceived contains more than 0.1% (by weight per article) of any substance(s) on theSubstances of Very High Concern (SVHC) candidate list. Alcatel-Lucent has verified theuse of substances listed on the candidate list of Substances of Very High Concern aspublished on the ECHA website.
