This wireless scanner is in compliance with IEEE802.15.4. Please read this instruction manual carefully before handling this product. This instruction manual provides safety and operating instructions for OPI-4002. Please read “Master Specifications” of OPI-4002 and “Universal Menu Book” for specifications and detailed settings other than wireless interface of this product. If leaked liquid gets in the eyes, wash them with clean water and consult a physician immediately. Constraint CAUTION Remove used batteries when this scanner stops its operation. Dispose batteries in Constraint accordance with the local disposal regulations. Store this product without batteries, when it is not in use for a long period. Constraint Otherwise, it may cause corrosion with battery leakage, resulting in malfunction. 10 2．取り扱い上のお願い 2．1 本機を正しくご使用いただくために、次の点にご注意ください。 ・湿度の高い場所や、ほこりの多い場所に放置しないでください。 ・寒い場所から暖かい場所へ移すと結露することがあります。万一結露した場合には付着した水滴が蒸発するまで、本機の使用 を控えてください。 ・静電気の起こりやすい場所（じゅうたんを使用しているところ）や、テレビ・ ラジオなど磁気を発生する機器の近くには置かない でください。 ・本機は精密機器ですので、ていねいにお取り扱いください。衝撃を加えたり、落としたり、本体の上にものを置いたりしないでく ださい。 ・本機は柔らかい布でからぶきするか、中性洗剤にひたした布をかたくしぼってから、かるくふいてください。（シンナー等の揮発 性のものは絶対に使用しないでください。） ・長時間日光に当たる場所や高（低）温になるところには放置しないでください。 ・雨や水などが、かからないようにしてください。 2．2 無線設備について ・本機は電波法で定められた 2.4GHz 帯高度化小電力データ通信システムの無線局の無線設備として、 特定無線設備の工事設計の認証を取得済みの製品です。その為、日本国内においては無線局の免許は必要ありません。 法律により次の行為は禁止されています。 ・改造及び分解 ・認証証明ラベルの剥離 2．3 無線仕様について ・本機は IEEE802.15.4 規格に準拠した無線通信方式を採用しております｡ ・本機が使用する電波帯（2.4GHz 帯）は、さまざまな機器が共有して使用する電波帯です。そのため、同じ電波帯を使用する機器 からの影響によって通信速度や通信距離が低下したり、通信が切断されることがあります。 ・機器間の障害物、電波状況、相手機などにより、通信速度や通信距離は異なります。 ・本機内部にはアンテナが搭載されています。極端に金属体に接近させると通信に影響を与える可能性があります。 2．4 使用周波数帯について 本機は 2.4GHz 帯の周波数を使用しています。下記事項に注意して使用してください。 本機の使用周波数帯では、電子レンジ等の産業・科学・医療用機器のほか、工場の製造ライン等で使用される免許を要する移動体 識別用構内無線局、免許を要しない特定小電力無線局、アマチュア無線局等（以下「他の無線局」と呼ぶ）が運用されています。 ・本機を使用する前に、近くで「他の無線局」が運用されていないことを確認してください。 ・万一、本機と「他の無線局」との間に電波干渉が発生した場合には、すみやかに使用場所を変えるか、電波の発射を停止して 電波干渉を避けてください。 ・その他不明な点やお困りのことは起きたときは、弊社営業にお問合せください。 ◎万一の故障、事故、修理および電池交換時の際のデータ保護、ならびに損害の保証について、 弊社では一切その責任を負いかねますので、ご注意ください。 11 2. Handling Precautions 2.1 Please follow the following instructions for proper usage. ・Do not leave this product in a highly humid or dusty area. ・When moved from a cold place to a warm place, this product may be covered with condensation. In such case, abstain from using it until the condensation disappears. ・Do not leave this product in the area where static electricity is easily generated (such as the carpeted area) or near equipments which generate magnetism (such as a TV or a radio). ・This product is a precision apparatus. Do not subject this product to strong impact. Do not throw or drop this product from large height. ・When cleaning this product, rub with a soft and dry clothes or a clothes wrung out of mild detergent. Do not use thinner, white spirit or other solvents. These can discolor the case and the keys and cause negative effects on the lifetime of the keys. ・Do not leave this product in direct sunlight or high temperature area. ・Keep batteries away from water or all other liquid. 2.2 Radio Equipment This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: -- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. -- Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. -- Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. -- Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. Laser beam for barcode reading will be emitted from here. The camera module (consists of lighting LED, aiming LED and light detecting lens) is equipped inside this window. Connect the dedicated AC adaptor. Install the dedicated AC adaptor cable along the guide. 20 5．ご使用にあたって ■本機について ・搭載される主電池について 出荷時は本機は省エネモードに入っております｡初めてお使いの際はトリガスイッチを押し続けると起動します。 主電池が放電している場合は起動しませんので、使用前に専用AC アダプタを接続し充電してください。 また、充電台(オプション)に本機を置くことで充電することも可能です。 ・LED の表示 状態 読み取り完了 送信エラー 充電中 充電完了 電池電圧低下 ・充電時間 仕様 約3 時間 色 緑 赤 赤 緑 赤 条件 バーコードを正しく読み取った時に点灯します。 バーコードデータを OPA-1001 に正しく送信できない時に点滅します。 本機を充電台に置くと点灯して、充電中であることを表示します。 充電が完了すると赤から緑に変わります。 トリガスイッチ押下時に LED が赤点灯しますので充電してください。 このときバーコードの読み取りは出来ません｡ 備考 電池が空状態から満充電に至るまで ■OPA-1001 について OPA-1001 は本機対応の受信機です。ホストの USB ポートに接続して使用します｡ OPA-1001 は USB1.1 をサポートしております。 ・LED の表示 色 オレンジ 緑 機能 ホストと USB 接続が完了するまでの初期化中 ・データ受信待ちの状態で点滅します。 ・データ受信時に点灯します。 ■ハンドストラップについて 本機を移動するとき、またご使用の時、落下防止用としてハンドストラップをご使用ください。 ハンドストラップは、認証証明ラベルの両脇にある「ストラップ取り付け穴」に結びつけてください。 ◎ハンドストラップを持って、本体を振り回さないでください。 21 5．Getting Started OPI-4002 Main batteries used for OPI-4002 As of the factory shipment, OPI-4002 is set to energy-saving mode. It will recover for the scanning operation by pressing and holding down the trigger switch for a while. OPI-4002 will not start up when the main batteries are discharged. Please use dedicated AC adapter to charge OPI-4002 before starting actual operation. Users can also use the cradle (optional) to charge batteries of OPI-4002. Remarks From empty charge to Full charge Wireless USB Adaptor OPA-1001: Wireless USB Adaptor OPA-1001 is a receiver for the scanner OPI-4002. Use it with connecting to the host computer USB port. OPA-1001 supports USB1.1. Wireless USB Adaptor LED indicator Color Indication Orange During initialization until the process between host computer and USB is completed. Green Blinking waiting for data reception. Solid state lighting when data is receive. Hand strap: Use the hand strap to avoid drop when carrying or using the scanner. Note that an aiming pattern does not indicate exact sannable width nor distance between a scanner and a bar code. Aiming Guideline ・ To scan a bar code within a width of aiming range, make sure that two central LED light patterns overlap together. Then locate the center of the overlapped LED light pattern on the center of the bar code. ・ To scan a bar code wider than a width of aiming range, aim the bar code from farther point. Make sure that the bar code is in between two LED light patterns at right and left ends. ● Due to specular reflections, scanning performance may differ depending on the material of the media on which the target bar code is printed. Connection: Scanner 1 : Wireless USB Adaptor 1 Connection mode: Address recognition (perform the communication by recognizing registered address.) Encryption: Support 128 bit-key Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). Distance Approx. 30 m (depends on use environment ) 7.2 Settings via menu bar codes The following wireless connection can be configured by reading the bar codes listen on page 19. 20 and 21. ・Registration to wireless USB adaptor (decide the host computer of scanner) ・Wireless channel settings (set communication channel of scanner and dongle) ・Communication control settings ・Data memorizing settings outside of communication area. Data Memorizing Settings Outside of Communication Area (factory default setting) Bar code data is not stored automatically, in case the connection is lost. - Scanning operation is enabled outside of communication area of OPI-4002. Bar code data is stored automatically. - Maximum capacity of memory is approximately 100 K Bytes. - Beeps go off when data volume exceeds the capacity of the memory during the scanning operation carried out outside of the communication area. Scanning operation will be disabled at once. As soon as OPI-4002 is connected again, the temporary stored data is transmitted to the computer and the storage area is cleared. - Automatic transmission of temporary stored data is done in a random cycle of 1.0 to 2.0 seconds. - When data clear menu bar code 「+-MCLR-+」 or IEEE address label is scanned during the re-transmission of bar code data outside of communication area (while orange LED is blinking), re-transmission of bar code data will stop and bar code data stored in the memory will be deleted. When “Clear All Memorized Data” is selected during the scanning operation outside of communication area, all memorizing data will be deleted and the memory will be cleared. Orange LEDs turn Green after completion. Then a connection will be made. Operating Systems Recommended for OPA-1001 Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2 8.2 Scanner Connection Sequence 1. Connect the Wireless USB Adaptor to the host computer and make sure Green LED is blinking. 2. Press trigger key to start reading operation. 3. Scan IEEE address bar code label “A4xxxxxxxx” on the Wireless USB Adaptor to register by the scanner. The connection is done. Now you can start bar code reading.
