Sealed inside the product, the batteries are in a pack containing two small hermetically sealed pressurised primary Lithium – Manganese Dioxide cells. Each pack has its own heat-shrunk plastic casing, and incorporates physical and electrical short-circuit protection. Use Information The batteries in this product have a limited service life: see label for expiry date. The product contains no user-serviceable parts. The product should only be disassembled by qualified service personnel. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RECHARGE THE BATTERIES. Hazardous Substances Under EC and US legislation this product is classified as a manufactured article, which does not result in exposure to any hazardous chemicals under normal conditions of use. As such the product does not require a Material Safety Data Sheet, and the following information is provided as a courtesy: The Lithium content of the battery pack within the product is less than 2g. DO NOT DISCARD IN DOMESTIC WASTE. At the end of the product’s useful life, it is vital that the battery packs be disconnected from the main unit to prevent false alarms. False alarms cause expensive disruption to Search and Rescue services and may endanger lives as a consequence. This operation should only be performed by qualified service personnel. This product should be disposed of in a sensible and considerate manner, and in accordance with local regulations. Take it to a civil recycling facility, or contact McMurdo for advice.
