Unit care
Clean this unit with a soft, dry cloth
When dir t is heavy, wring a cloth moistened in water
tightly to wipe the dirt, and then wip e it with a dry cloth.
When cleaning this unit, use a fin e cloth. Do not use
tissues or other material s (towels, etc.) th at can fa ll
apart. Sma ll grain s may get stuck inside the speaker
cover.
Never use alcohol, paint thinner or benzine to clean this
unit.
Before using che mically-treated cloth, ca refully read the

Do not attem pt to attac h thes e speakers to a wall using m ethods other than those des cribed in this manual.
The speaker system
Use a screwdriver ( ) for assembling the speakers.
Do not hold the speakers in one hand to avoid injury, you may drop the speakers when carrying them.
When attaching the speakers to a wall
The wall or pillar on whic h the speak ers are to be attac hed should be c apable of supporting 33 kg (72.8 lbs) per screw.
Consultation with a qualified ins tallation spec ialist is rec omm ended when attaching the speakers to a wall. Improper attac hment
may result in damage to the wall and s peakers , and personal injury.
When placing the speakers in front of the TV
The speak ers may bloc k or interfere w ith the TV s various sensors (C.A.T.S. (Contras t Automatic Tracking System) s ensor,
remote control sensor, etc .) and the 3D Ey ew ear transmitters on a 3D compatible TV.
If the stands are being used
Change the height of the stands and/or move the speak ers further away from the TV. If the TV still does not func tion correctly,
try removing the stands.
If the stands are not used
Move the speakers further away from the T V. If the TV still does not function properly, try placing them beside the TV (
10).
The active subwoofer
When carrying the active subwoofer
Do not hold the active subwoofer from this
opening.
The parts inside may get damaged.
Always hold the bottom of the active subwoofer when
moving it.
Wireless interference
To avoid interference, maintain the following distances between the main unit/active subwoofer
and other electronic devices that use the same radio frequency (2.4 GHz band).
Main unit/active subwoofer
Wireless LAN: approx. 2 m (6 1/2 ft)
Cordless phone and other electronic devices:
approx. 2 m (6 1/2 ft)
Place the ac tive subwoofer within a few meters of the main unit and in a horiz ontal position with the top panel fac ed upward.
Do not use this unit in a metal cabinet.
Placing the activ e subwoofer too c lose to the walls and corners can result in excess iv e bass . C over walls and windows with
thick curtains.
If irregular c oloring occurs on your TV, turn the T V off for about 30 minutes. If it pers is ts, move the speakers further away from
the TV.
Keep magnetiz ed items away. Magnetized cards , watc hes, etc., c an be damaged if placed too close to the ac tive subwoofer
and the speakers.

To prevent damage or scratches, lay down a soft cloth and perform the assembly on it.
Assemble the speakers.
The two front s peakers are interc hangeable.

Additional speaker fall prevention measures
To prevent the speakers from falling, it is recommended, as an additional
protection measure, to attach the speakers to the wall or table with a fall
prevention cord (hereafter cord ).
Consultation with a qualified installation specialist c oncerning the appropriate procedure when attac hing to a concrete wall or a
surface that may not hav e strong enough s upport is recommended ( 13, 17). Improper attac hment m ay res ult in damage to
the wall and speakers, and pers onal injury.
Use a c ord that is capable of supporting over 10 k g (22.05 lbs ) (with a diameter of about 1.5 mm ( 1/16 )).
The safety holder is to minimize the possibility of dam age and harm, but it does not guarantee this effect.

VIERA Link is a new name for EZ Sync .
VIERA Link HDAVI Control is a convenient
function that offers linked operations of this
unit, and a Panasonic TV (VIERA) under
HDAVI Control .
You can use this function by connecting the
equipment with an HDMI cable. See the
operating instructions for connected
equipment for operational details.

The batte ry is depleted. Replace it with a n ew one.

It may be necessary to set the code of th e remote

Remove the AC power supply cord and consult yo ur

The m ain unit is automatically switched to

The main unit wi ll automatically switch to standby mode
when no signal is input and no op eration is performed for

The m ain unit is turned off when the TV s
speakers are selected in the speaker control.
This is a normal feature when using VIERA Link (HDAVI
Control 4 or later). Please read the operatin g instru ctions

HDMI
This unit does not operate correctly.
If the HDMI cable is connected to the wrong terminal
(HDMI IN o r HDMI OUT), this unit will not operate
correctly. Turn the main unit off, d isconnect the AC power
supply cord and reconnect the HDMI cab le(s). ( 24, 25)
VIERA Link related operations no longer
function properly.
Check the VIERA Link setting on the connected
devices.
Have yo u turned the VIERA Link settings off? ( 33)
When the HDMI connectio ns are changed , after a
power failure or a fte r the AC power supply co rd has
been removed, VIERA Link operations may not fu nction
properly.
Turn on all the devices that are conn ected to the TV
with an HDMI cable and then tur n the TV on.
Turn off the VIERA Link settings of the TV and turn it
on again. For details refer to the operating
instructio ns for th e TV.
While this unit and the TV are connecte d with th e
HDMI ca ble, turn on the TV and th en remove the
main uni t s AC power supply cord and reconne ct it
again.
The fir st few seconds of audio cannot be heard
when using the HDMI connection.
This may occur du ring DVD-Video chapter pla yback.
Change the digital audio output setting on th e connected
device from Bitstre am to PCM .
When operating an HDMI compatible device of
a different brand, the main unit reacts in an
unwanted manner.
HDAVI Control commands ma y use a different si gnal
dependin g on the brand of the device. In th is case, turn
VIERA Link off. ( 33)
Bluetooth®
Pairing cannot be done.
Check the Blueto oth® device condition.
The device cannot be connected.
The pairing of the de vice was unsuccessful. Try pairing

The dual audio cannot be changed fro m main
to secondary.
If the audio rece ived fro m the conne cted de vice is not
Dolby Dual Mon o or the output se tting is not Bitstream ,
the setting canno t be changed fr om this unit. Change the
setting o n the connected device .
The volume is lowered when this unit is turned
on.
If the ma in unit is turne d off with the volume setting in the
greater half (above 50), the main unit will automati cally
lower the volume to the middle (50 ) when the main unit is
turned o n. ( 33)
The dialog is too persistent or the dialog does
not sound natur al.
This u nit has a function to make the dialog stand out when
the volume is low. ( 32)
