ations may be explained in previous chapters. So ifyou readjust one part of the manual, you may
not understand the complete explanation of the function.

3. Initial lnstallin
To nstall the trensceiver, select a safe, convenient location side your vehicle that minimizes
dengertp your passengers and yourseltwhile the vehicle is in motion. Consider installing the unit
at an appropriate position so that knees or legs will not strike it during sudden braking of your vehicle.
Try to pick a well ventileted lomtion thet is shielded from direct sunlight.
1. install the mounting bracket In the vehicle using the supplied self-tapping screws (4 pcs), flat
washers (4 pcs).

2. Position the transceiver, then insert and tighten the supplied hexagon SEMS screws (4) and
flat washers (4).
' Double check that all hardware is tightened to prevent vehicle vibration from loosening the
bracket or transceiver.
' Determine the appropriate angle of the transceiver, using the 3 screw hole positions on the
side cfthe mounting bracket.

DC Power Cable Connection
NOT Locate the powe npul connector as close to the transceiver as pos
[Mobile Operation]
The vehicle battery must have a nominal latlng 0! 12 v. Never connect the transcetver to a 24 V
battery. Be sure tr.) use a 12 V vehicle battery that has suificient current capacity. It the cuneni tr.)
the transceiver is Insulllolent, the display may darken during transmission. ortransmlt output power
may drop excessively.
1. Route the DC power mole supplied with the transceiverdirectly to the vehide's battery terminals
using the shortest path lrom the transceiver.
0 If using a noise filter. it should be installed with an insulatortc prevent it from toudring metal
on the vehicle.
° We recommend you do not use the cigarette lighter socket as some cigarette lighter sockets
introdum an unaccephbie voltage drop.
O The entire length ofthe cable must be dressed so it is isolated lrom heflL moisture, and the
engine secondary (high voltage) Ignition system] cables.
2. Alter the cable is in place. wrap heat-resistant tape around the fuse holder to protect it lrom
moisture and tie down the full run of cable.
1. To prevent the risk of short oirurits, disconnect other wiring lrom the negative (-) battery terminal
before connectan the transceiver.
4. Confirm the correct polarity of the connections. then attach the power cable to the battery
terminals; red connects to the positive (+) terminal and black connects to the negative (-)
terminal.
' Use the full length of the mole without cutting oft excess even it the cable is longer than
required. In particular, never remove the [use holders trom the nble.
5. Reconnect any wiring removed from the negative terminal.
6. Connect the DC power cable to the transceivers power supply connector.
