Universal Wireless FM Transmitter What’s Included 12-496 FM Transmitter 12VDC Plug RF Emissions Thank you for purchasing your Wireless FM Transmitter. Please read this user’s guide before installing, setting up and using your new product. www.radioshack.com /8” to 3/32” Adapter 5V DC jack HIGH-LOW BAND frequency switch 2.5 mm plug Low frequency: 88.1, 88.3, 88.7, 88.9 MHz High frequency: 107.1, 107.3, 107.7, 107.9 MHz Connect to the 3.5 mm plug. Performance Tips • Bass boost modes may cause distorted sound. • The FCC regulates and limits your transmitter’s strength. /8” (3.5 mm) stereo plug Step 1 Connect the 12VDC plug into your car’s power port. Conect the other end to the 5V DC jack on the transmitter. Step 2 Insert the 3.5mm stereo plug into the 3.5mm headphone jack of any portable audio device. If your audio device (LG, Sanyo, Motorola mobile cell) comes with 2.5mm headphone jack, connect the 3.5mm plug to the supplied 1/8” to 3/32” adapter first. Step 3 Turn on your transmitter and audio device. Select one frequency on the transmitter and set the radio in the car to the same frequency. Use the volume controls on your radio or audio device to adjust the volume. For best performance, select a frequency that is not occupied by a strong local FM station. Installing Optional Batteries You can power your transmitter with 2 AAA batteries (not supplied). Remove the battery cover and insert the batteries according to polarity (+ or –) markings. Recycle Rechargeable Batteries Placing rechargeable batteries in the trash can be harmful to the environment. Instead, recycle old rechargeable batteries at your local RadioShack store free of charge. RadioShack participates in the RBRC© battery recycling program, and is committed to preserving the environment and conserving natural resources.
