i)UseofthewirelessLAN/Bluetoothcomboadapter
IfnointegratedwirelessLAN/Bluetoothcombocardhasbeenpreinstalledin
yourcomputer,youcaninstallone,providedbyLenovo®asanoption.Forthe
installationprocedure,see“ReplacinganM.2wirelessLANcard”inUserGuide.
Attention:Thecomputercontainsanauthenticationmechanism.Ifyouinstall
anunauthorizedwirelesscommunicationcardthatisnotapprovedforusein
yourcomputer,thecomputerwillnotstart,butonlydisplaysanerrormessage
andemitsaudiblebeeps.
ii)FCCIDlocation
ThereisnoFCCIDforthewirelesscommunicationcardsshownontheenclosure
ofyourcomputer.Insteadyouwillndanindicatorpointingtothelocationofthe
FCCIDonthebottomofyourcomputer.TheFCCIDisafxedontheapproved
adapterinstalledinthecorrespondingcardslot,andtheFCCIDisvisiblepriorto

iii)FCCRFExposurecompliance
Theradiatedoutputpowerofthewirelesscommunicationcardauthorizedto
useforyourcomputerisfarbelowtheFCCradiofrequencyexposurelimits.
Nevertheless,itshallbeusedinsuchamannerthatthepotentialforhuman
contactduringnormaloperationisminimizedasfollows:
CAUTION:
TocomplywithFCCRFexposurecompliancerequirements,aseparation
distanceofatleast20cm(8inches)mustbemaintainedbetweenthe
antennasconnectedtothewirelesscommunicationcardsandallpersons.If
thedistancemaynotbemaintainedwhilethecomputerisclosed,youmust
selectsleepasthepowermodewhenclosingthedisplay.

MHzfrequencyrange.FCCrequirestheseproductstobeusedindoorsfor
thefrequencyrange5150to5250MHztoreducethepotentialforharmful
interferencetoco-channelMobileSatellitesystems.
•Highpowerradarsareallocatedasprimaryusersofthe5250to5350MHzand
5650to5850MHzbands.Theseradarstationscancauseinterferencewith
and/ordamagethisdevice.
IV.SimultaneoususeofRFtransmitters
Yourcomputerisapprovedforsimultaneoususeoftheapprovedwireless
LAN/BluetoothcomboadapterandoneoftheapprovedwirelessWANadapters.

andThinkPadRegulatoryNoticefortheWirelessWANAdapter.
MakesureofthefollowingconditionswhenyouuseanyotherexternalRFoption

1.WhenyouuseanyotherRFoptiondevice,youarerequestedtoconrm
thatthedeviceconformstotheRFSafetyrequirementandisapprovedto
useforyourcomputer.
2.YoumustfollowtheRFSafetyinstructionsoftheRFoptiondevicethatare

ThereisnocerticationnumberofIndustryCanadaforthewirelesscommunication
cardshownontheenclosureofyourcomputer.Insteadyouwillndanindicator
pointingtothelocationoftheICCerticationnumberonthebottomofyour
computer.TheICcerticationnumberisafxedontheapprovedadapterinstalled
inthecorrespondingslot,andtheICCerticationnumberisvisiblepriorto
installation.ForthelocationoftheICCerticationnumberindicatorandtheslot,
see“FCCIDandICCerticationinformation”inUserGuide.
Attention:Thecomputercontainsanauthenticationmechanism.Youcaninstall
orremoveeachwirelessadapterbyyourself.Ifyouinstallanunauthorized
