Toner Cartridge
Do not remove the toner cartridge from its package
until you are ready to use it.
Toner cartridge storage
The life of the toner cartridge depends on the amount
of toner that print jobs require.
When printing text at 5% cove rage, a Samsung toner
cartridge lasts an ave rage of 10,000 pages in simplex
mode, depending on which toner cartridge is installed.
This assumes that print D E N S I T Y and E C O N O m e n u
items are set to default.

Notes
To prevent damage to toner cartridge,
do not expose it to light.
When toner is low, faded or light area might appear
on a printed page.
You might be able to temporarily improve print quality
by distributing the toner.

Toner Cartridge
When toner is low, faded or light areas may appear on a printed page.
You may be able to temporarily improve print quality by redistributing the
t o n e r. The following procedures may allow you to finish the current print job
before replacing the toner cartridge.
Redistributing Toner
1Open the top cover by pushing
the button on the side of the

2Re m ove the toner cartridge
from the printer.
C A U T I O N S :
• Avoid reaching too far into

may be hot.
• To prevent damage to the
toner cartridge, do not
expose it to light for m o r e
than a few minute.

6.3
Toner Cartridge
3Gently shake the toner
cartridge from side to side 5 or
6 times to redistribute the

4Reinsert the toner cartridge
into the printer. Be sure that
the toner cartridge is firmly in
its place.
5Firmly close the cove r.
If the print remains light
Re m ove the old cartridge and
install a new toner cartridge.
See “Installing Toner Cartridge”
on page 2.3.
Notes
If the toner gets on your
clothing, wipe it off with a dry
cloth and wash clothing in cold
water. Hot water sets toner into

Cleaning the Printer
To maintain print quality, you should clean the printer.
N e ver use alcohol or solvent based cleaning agents to clean the printer
as they may damage the printer casing and components.
N e ver use a hard-bristled brush or abra s i v e pad.
To clean your printer, proceed as follows.
2Re m ove the paper from

You must have the CD(or diskette) for “windows 95”
or Windows 98” now being used.
You cannot use PS in Windows 3.1.
PPDs, in combination with the PostScript drive r, access the
printer features and allow the computer to communicate
with the printer. An installation program for the PPDs is

Notes:
Installing the PostScript printer driver may require
the use of the operating system files on the original
CD-ROM or diskette that came with your system.
If you have a PostScript level 3 driver and want to
use it, you must install the PostScript level 3 PPD
which is also provided on the ML-7300 CD-ROM.

About Sharing the Printer on a Network
If you work in a networked environment,
you can connect the ML-7300 series printer to yo u r
network.
You can connect the printer directly to a selected
computer (called the “host computer”) on the
network. The printer can then be shared by other
users on the network through a Windows 9x, 2000

If an option network card was installed on yo u r
printer (see page Appendix E.8 for information on
installing the option network card in your printer)
or if you have ML-7300N printer, the printer can be
connected to the network via direct attachment to
an external print serve r.
Whether the printer is locally connected or network
connected, you need to install the ML-7300 series
printer software on each computer that will print
documents to the ML-7300 series printer.

Never remove the printer control board while the printer is
plugged in.
To avoid the possibility of electrical shock, always disconnect the
power cord when installing or removing ANY internal or external
printer option.
The control board and internal printer options
(SIMM, Network interface) are sensitive to static electricity.
Before installing or removing an internal option,
discharge static electricity from your body by touching
something metal, such as the metal back plate on any device
plugged into a grounded power source.
If you walk round before finishing the installation, discharge
once again any static electricity.
