Set the Coding Switches T here are nine (9) dip switches, each of which can be placed in three different positions (+,0,-). Set the switches in the Mini Transmitter to exactly match your existing transmitter(s). DO NOT set all switches in the same position, such as all+, all -, or all zeros (Figure D). R eassemble the Transmitter When you are sure that all the switches are set the same in all transmitters put the top back on the Mini Transmitter and tighten the Phillips screw. R emember to place the necklace chain or key ring in the eye of the transmitter case before you snap the transmitter back together. NOT E : If the red light on the transmitter is dim or flickers when the transmitter button is pushed, the transmitter battery may be weak. R eplace when necessary with a 12 Volt battery (available at most camera stores). R emove the Transmitter Cover R emove the access cover from the front of the transmitter by sliding the cover away from the top of the transmitter. T his will expose the battery and the dip switches. Unsnap the top of the transmitter to access the coding switches. T he two and three button transmitters are used for the remote control of two or three gate openers and/or garage door openers (Figure E ). B oth will work with any of our trinary coded receivers. I M PORTA NT: T he exact same code must be set on your existing transmitter(s) and your Mini Transmitter. If just one switch is mismatched, the controls will not function. If you are adding the Mini Transmitter to your existing controls, verify the exact code you are currently using on your standard transmitter. R elease the L E A R N T R A NSMIT T E R or S5 button after approximately 5 seconds. D. Continue to hold the T R A NSMIT T E R button until the gate begins to move. T he new T R A NSMIT T E R code is now stored in the control board memory. 4. Using your transmitter T he transmitter can either be hand held or mounted on the sun visor of your vehicle. To activate your gate operator, simply depress your transmitter button until the gate begins to move. Make note of the button you chose, as this will be the button you must now use to operate your gate. E ach transmitter button corresponds to a (+, 0, or -) setting (Figure H). On the Dual Transmitter, the L eft button has a (+) setting, and the R ight button has a setting of (0). On the Triple Transmitter, the L eft button has a (+) setting, the middle button has a setting of (0), and the R ight button has a setting of (-). For example, if you wish to use the R ight button on the Dual Transmitter to open your garage, you would set the ninth dip switch on the receiver to (0). B e sure not to use the same transmitter button that you selected to activate the gate operator. For example, on a Dual Transmitter, if you set the L eft B utton to open your gate, you would use the R ight B utton to open your garage door.
