For best performance when using a remote control place an Access Point in the
same room.
HINTS
• Do not use an outlet controlled by
a switch.
Step 2.
On the first Access Point tap the SET button four times rapidly.
The Access Point’s LED will turn bright and remain steadily on.
• Do not place near large metal
objects.
Step 3.
Step 4.
Plug the second Access Point into another outlet.
Look at the second Access Point’s Status LED:
• If it is bright and steadily on, go to step 5.
• If it is blinking or dim, repeat step 3, trying another outlet.
Note: You may need to try several outlets. If you are unable to locate an outlet please call 866-243-8018
for assistance. If you have tried 5 outlets, go back and move the first Access Point to another outlet.
Step 5.

The Status LED on both Access Points will go dim and remain steadily on.
Congratulations! You have made your home INSTEON ready.
Troubleshooting Tips
