The purpose of this m anual is to explain correct way how to int egrat e m odule WML- 46# # # t o t he end
product . I t includes procedures that shall assist you to avoid unforeseen problem s.
This manual present s inform at ion that shows how m odule and OEM product , where m odule integrat ed,
complies with regulat ions in cert ain regions. Any m odifications, not expressly approved by the
m anufacturer could void the aut hority t o operat e in these regions.

1 . Genera l
This Bluet ooth radio m odule has t o be inst alled and used in accordance with t he t echnical
descript ion/ inst allat ion inst ructions provided by the m anufacturer.
This Bluet oot h radio m odule is intended to be placed on t he m arket in all St at es, where
the Bluetoot ht echnology and the used frequency band is released.
For det ail inform at ion concerning type approv al of t his m odule ( e.g. where this m odule is
already pre- approved) please contact t he aut horised local distributor or the m anufact urer.
The system m ay only be im plem ent ed in t he configuration that was aut horized.
Not e that any changes or m odificat ions to this equipm ent not expressly approved by
the manufacturer could void the users authorit y to operat e this equipm ent.

2 .2 La be lling

OEM product / applicat ion, where t his radio m odule is int egrat ed/ installed in , has to be labelled in
accordance to R&TTE direct ive, Article 12. An auxiliary label is included in t he packaging t o the
radio m odule, which can be used for that purpose and has to be perm anent ly affixed to the OEM
product/ applicat ion, ot herwise OEM product m ust be approved separat ely.
Regulatory inform ation on the OEM devise should cont ain labelling t hat :

m a nufact ure d by M I TSUMI in corpora t e d to OEM product .

3 . FCC Regulat ory I nform a t ion
The Federal Com m unicat ion Com m ission Radio Frequency I nterference Statem ent
includes t he following paragraph:
This equipm ent has been test ed and found to com ply wit h the lim it s pursuant t o Part 15 of the FCC
Rules.
These lim its are designed t o provide reasonable prot ect ion against harm ful interference in a resident ial
inst allat ion.
This equipment generates, uses and radiat es radio frequency energy and, if not inst alled and used in
accordance wit h the instructions, m ay cause harm ful interference t o radio com m unicat ion.
However, t here is no guarantee t hat interference will not occur in a part icular installat ion. I f t his

This label will be placed on the final product , clearly visible to all persons exposed to the
t ransm it t er. The specific location on the final product will be consist ent wit h each sam e final
product, but will vary in locat ion across various final product s, and in any case will always be
clearly visible t o all persons exposed t o t he transm itt er. The physical size of the label and font size
of the let t ering w ill be dependent on t he size of t he final product, but in any case will always be
clearly visible t o all persons exposed t o t he transm itt er.
3 .2 Antenna im plem e nt ation n otes.
Any antenna of a sim ilar t ype wit ch list ed in antenna declarat ion m ay be used wit hout retest ing.
Use of an antenna of a different t ype t han the tested antenna or one that exceeds the gain of a
t est ed ant enna would require retest ing and new approval by either a Telecom m unicat ion
Cert ificat ion Body or t he Com m ission. Manufacturers OEM would be expect ed to supply a list of
acceptable antenna types wit h applicat ions for equipm ent authorizat ion.

Radio m odule WML- 46# # # can be incorporat ed into m any different devices. The m odules
gener ally consist of a com plet ely self- cont ained radiofr equency transm itt er m issing only an input
and a power source to m ake it functional. Once the m odules are aut horized by the Com m ission
under our cert ificat ion procedure, they m ay be incorporated into a num ber of host devices such as,
PCs or PDAs, which have been separat ely authorized. The com plet ed product generally is not
subject to requirem ent s for further cert ificat ion by t he FCC.

4 . Othe r regulat ory not es for OEM .
Modular transm itt ers save m anufact urers the tim e and any relat ed expenses that would be incurred if
a new equipm ent aut horizat ion w ere needed for t he sam e transm itt er when it is installed in a new
device. This m eans t hat it can be int egrat ed into end products wit hout further t est ing or approval
list ing. The m anufacturer m ust state the MI TSUMI part num ber and product reference in his lit erat ure
in order to m eet the requirem ent s of t he Bluetooth and regulat ory. This should be clearly indicated in
the OEM m anuals.
The purchaser / int egrator ( developer) m ust satisfy all relevant FCC, SAR, EMC and Radio regulat ions
which apply to their finished product. We believ e such parties have the technical com pet ence to ensure
that t he system s t hey deploy continue to com ply wit h all those rules.

be insured that the condit ions on the m odule grant will be m et. The purchaser m ust sat isfy all relevant
FCC, EMC and Radio regulations R&TTE directive which apply t o their finished product.
