INSTALLING AND REPLACING THE BASE BACKUP BATTERY If batteries are not installed or battery power is low, the low battery icon blinks in the display. You need to install or replace the batteries. 1. Carefully turn over the phone On the bottom is the battery compartment door. Remove the screw on the door with a screwdriver and open the door. INSTALLING AND REPLACING THE CORDLESS HANDSET BATTERY 0 CAUTION: To reduce the risk ol'lire or personal injury. use onl) the battery listed in the Instruction book. You must install the battery pack prior to first use or you will not be able to use the cordless handset. If a battery pack is not installed or battery power is low, the low battery icon blinks in the display and you need to install or replace the battery pack. If you are replacing the battery pack, disconnect the battery pack cord from the jack inside the battery compartment and remove the battery pack from the cordless handset. Insen a new battery pack and reconnect the battery pack cord to the iack inside the handset battery compartment. 4. Put the battery compartment door back on. Using other power supplies may damage the unit. 11 INSTALLING THE PHONE Your two-line phone should be placed on a level surface such as a desk or tabletop, or you can mount it on a wall. A desktop/wall mounting pedestal is packaged with your phone. ATTACHING THE DESKTOP PEDESTAL 1. Turn the phone over so that the bomorn ofthe base is facing up and the thickest end is pointing away from you. 2, Place the deskop pedestal over the bottom of the base so that the flat side is facing upwards and align the four slots on the bottom of the base with the four tabs on the mounting bracket. 3. Insen the tabs into the slots and push the pedestal forward until the pedestal snaps securely into place ATrACHINc. THE WALL MOUNTING PEDESTAL 1, Turn the base over and align the four slots on the bottom of the base with the four hook- tabs on the mounting bracket. 2. Insert the hook»tabs into the slots and push upwards until the mounting bracket snaps securely into place.
