1Before operating the monitor please read this manual thoroughly. 3The following symptoms are normal with LCD monitor and do not indicate aproblem.   NOTES•Due to the nature of thefluorescent light, the screen may flicker duringinitial use. Turn off the Power Switch and then turn it on again to makesure the flicker disappears.•You may find slightly uneven brightness on the screen depending on thedesktop pattern you use.•The LCD screen has effective pixels of 99.99% or more. It may includeblemishes of 0.01% or less such as a missing pixel or a pixel lit all of thetime.•Due to the nature of the LCD screen, an afterimage of the previous screenmay remain after switching the image, when the same image is displayedfor hours. In this case, the screen is recovered slowly by changing theimage or turning off the Power Switch for hours.•The life of the fluorescent light used in the LCD monitor is approximately10,000 hours. Contact your dealer or EPI service center for replacementwhen the screen is dark, flickering or not lighting up. Make sure the power cord is the correct type that required in your area.2. This LCD monitor has a universal power supply that allows operation ineither 100/120V AC or 220/240V AC voltage area (No user adjustment isrequired.)3. Connect the power cord into your LCD monitor’s power input socket, andthen plug the other end into a 3-pin AC power outlet. The power cord maybe connected to either a wall power outlet or the power outlet socket onyour PC, depending on the type of power cord supplied with your LCDmonitor. 5     VIDEO CABLEConnecting the Video Cable: the LCD monitor comes with a built-in videocable. Plug the signal cable′s 15-pin connector into the computer's video portand tighten the two screws on the cable connector.Connecting the Power Cord: Plug the power cord into the LCD monitor's ACpower socket. Then plug the power cord into a grounded AC outlet or UL-approved power strip or the power output socket on your PC.Caution: If the AC outlet is not grounded (with three holes), install the propergrounding adapter (not supplied).Figure 2     Connecting  Cables1. 6  INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS•For optimal viewing it is recommended to look at the full face of themonitor, then adjust the monitor’s angle to your own preference.•Hold the stand so you do not topple the monitor when you change themonitor’s angle.•You are able to adjust the monitor’s angle from -5° to 25°.Figure 3  NOTES•Do not touch the LCD screen when you change the angle. It may causedamage or break the LCD screen.•Careful attention is required not to catch your fingers or hands when youchange the angle.ADJUSTING THE VIEWING ANGLE
7OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS   Press the power button to turn the monitor on or off. The other control knobsare located at front panel of the monitor (See Figure 4). By changing thesesettings, the picture can be adjusted to your personal preferences.•The power cord should be connected.•Connect the video cable from the monitor to the video card.•Press the power button to turn on the monitor position. 8  FRONT PANEL CONTROL•Power:Press this knob to switch ON/OFF of monitor’s power.•MENU/Exit :Active OSD menu or function adjust confirm or Exit OSD menu when inBrightness/Contrast OSD status.•Contrast  /   :Adjust contrast or function adjust.•Brightness   /   :Adjust brightness or function adjust.•Auto Config Key:The Auto Adjust Key is used to automatically set the H POs, V Pos, Clockand Focus.•Power Indicator:Green —Power On mode.Orange —Off mode.  NOTES•Do not install the monitor in a location near heat sources such asradiators or air ducts, or in a place subject to direct sunlight, or excessivedust or mechanical vibration or shock.•Save the original shipping carton and packing materials, as they will comein handy if you ever have to ship your monitor.•For maximum protection, repackage your monitor as it was originallypacked at the factory.•To keep the monitor looking new, periodically clean it with a soft cloth.Stubborn stains may be removed with a cloth lightly dampened with a milddetergent solution. Never use strong solvents such as thinner, benzene,or abrasive cleaners, since these will damage the cabinet. As a safetyprecaution, always unplug the monitor before cleaning it.
9   1. Press the MENU-Key  to make the OSD window appear. See figure 5.2. Press   or    to select the desired function. See figure 5.3. Press the MENU-Key  to select the function that you want to adjust.4. Press   or    to change the settings of the current function.5. When the OSD window is active, it shows the input signal timing. The  "H"stands for the horizontal frequency and "V" for the vertical frequency.6. To exit and save, select the exit functions, or leave the monitor alone for10 seconds. Press “ESC” to quit the pattern file ,or  press ALT-F, and then X to exitfrom the Dos-Editor screenIf the DOS-MODE characters still have distortionexample : ●the picture can’t go to full screen●the background of white pattern has vertical stripe noise●the character twistedthat means your monitor parameter was in wrong resolution, please check ifyour VGA-CARD supports 720x400 @ 70 Hzin general, most of the Dos mode was set by VGA-CARD in resolution720x400@70Hz, but minor was set in 640x400 @ 70Hz  ( our monitor onlysupports 720x400@70Hz)HOW TO OPTIMIZE THE DOS-MODE
11   Plug & Play DDC1/2B FeatureThis monitor is equipped with VESA DDC1/2B capabilities according to theVESA DDC STANDARD. It allows the monitor to inform the host system of itsidentity and, depending on the level of DDC used, communicate additionalinformation about its display capabilities. The communication channel isdefined in two levels, DDC1 and DDC2B.The DDC1 is a unidirectional data channel from the display to the host thatcontinuously transmits EDID information. The DDC2B is a bidirectional datachannel based on the I²C protocol. The host can request EDID informationover the DDC2B channel.THIS MONITOR WILL APPEAR TO BE NON-FUNCTIONAL IF THERE ISNO VIDEO INPUT SIGNAL. IN ORDER FOR THIS MONITOR TO OPERATEPROPERLY, THERE MUST BE A VIDEO INPUT SIGNAL.This monitor meets the Green monitor standards as set by the VideoElectronics Standards Association (VESA) and/or the United StatesEnvironmental Protection Agency (EPA) and The Swedish ConfederationEmployees (NUTEK). This feature is designed to conserve electrical energyby reducing power consumption when there is no video-input signal present.When there is no video input signal this monitor, following a time-out period,will automatically switch to an OFF mode. This reduces the monitor's internalpower supply consumption. After the video input signal is restored, full poweris restored and the display is automatically redrawn. The appearance issimilar to a "Screen Saver" feature except the display is completely off. Thedisplay is restored by pressing a key on the keyboard, or clicking the mouse.  USING THE RIGHT POWER CORD :The accessory power cord for the Northern American region is the wallet plugwith NEMA 5-15 style and is UL listed and CSA labeled. The voltage rating forthe power cord shall be 125 volts AC.Supplied with units intended for connection to power outlet of personalcomputer: Please use a cord set consisting of a minimum No. 18 AWG, typeSJT or SVT three conductors flexible cord. 15  FOR FIRST TIME INSTALL :1. Check this LCD MONITOR LM-510 is properly connected to yourcomputer.2. Restart the computer , when win98 detects the presence of a Plug andPlay Monitor ,its device driver can be loaded and configured dynamically,insert LM-510 install disk to DISK A after the Win95/98 setup wizard isappear. This setup wizard will lead you through the steps for configuringthe system.(Select “ NEXT “ for next steps and select driver A for LM-510 install file,if not select driver A ,the configuration system will automatic select thestandard Plug and Play driver)3.
