Insert a small, flat-head screwdriver into the slotson the side of the contact housing and release thecontact cover.2. Pull out the cover from the door/window contacthousing.3. Observe the polarity and insert or replace the bat-tery.4. Reinsert the contact cover (with circuit boardattached).EnrollmentRefer to the panel installation manual for the enroll-ment procedure.A general description of the procedure is provided inthe following flow chart:Step Procedure1 See the Installation Manual for the alarm sys-tem that the device is being enrolled on toensure that the proper steps are used.2 Enter the device enrollment option throughthe specified method and select the appro-priate option to add the new device.3 Insert the battery and wait for the panel todetectthe device or enter the device ID.4 Select the desired zone number.5 Configure any device parameters that arerequired.6 Mount and test the device. See PlacementTesting for information on testing thedevice. In addition, see the alarm systemsInstallation Manual that the device isenrolled on for other test procedures thatare required.Performing a placement testBefore you permanently mount any wireless device,temporarily mount the device and perform a place-ment test on the door frame, as close as possible to theplanned installation area. This is for checking theradio link.1. To tamper the device, pull the cover attached tothe device.2. Reinsert the cover to restore the tamper. Thedevice now enters placement test mode for 15minutes.3. Trip the device by opening the door or windowand verify that the red LED blinks, indicatingdetection.After 2 seconds the LED blinks 3 times. The followingtable indicates the received signal strength.LED Response Signal StrengthGreen LED blinks STRONGOrange LED blinks GOODRed LED blinks POORNo blinks No communicationIMPORTANT! Only GOOD or STRONG signalstrengths are acceptable. Install the device a nd magnet oneither the side or the top of the door and the doorframe.Figure 5.Mark the locations for the door/window contact andthe magnet. Ensure that the locations for the contactand the magnet are correctly aligned.Sensor installation.Install the sensor by the following steps:1. Use a 3/4 drill bit to slowly drill a 3/4 inch hole forthe door/window contact in the door frame.2. Fasten the contact housing to the mounting surfacewith the two screws and insert the cover. If thereis no 3mm gap available between the door and theframe, two step drilling is necessary. Using a22mm tool, drill a 2mm shallow, followed by a70mm deep hole with a 19mm tool. Consultez également leManuel d'installation des systèmes d'alarmedans lesquels l'appareil est enregistré pourconnaître la procédure à suivre.Test de l'emplacementAvant d'installer un appareil sans fil de manière défin-itive, montez l'appareil provisoirement et testez sa pos-ition sur le dormant, le plus près possible del'emplacement prévu. Ceci permet de tester la liaisonradio.1. Pour déclencher l'auto-protection de l'appareil,retirez le capot fixé à l'appareil.2. Réinsérez ensuite le capot pour rétablir l'auto-pro-tection. L'appareil passe en mode de test d'em-placement pendant 15 minutes.3. Déclenchez l'appareil en ouvrant momentanémentla porte ou la fenêtre et vérifiez que le voyantrouge clignote pour signaler la détection.Au bout de 2 secondes, le voyant clignote 3 fois.
