Indication LED4. PIR optical windowThe PGx902 is a smart wireless outdoor curtain PIRdetector with anti-masking supported by the DSCalarm system using PowerG two-way communicationprotocol. The detector has the following features:lTwo channel Pyro (patented)lMicroprocessor-controlled temperaturecompensationl White light protectionl Adjustable pet immunity selector [no pet / pet < 9kg (20 lbs) / pet < 18 kg (40 lbs)]l Adjustable detection sensitivity up to 8 meters (26.2 ft)l Advanced Obsidian Black Mirror™ optics(patented)lTarget Specific Imaging™ (TSI) technology (usedfor distinction between humans and pets weighingup to 18 kg / 40 lb)lTrue Motion Recognition™ algorithm (patented)distinguishing between the true motion of anintruder and any other disturbances which maycause false alarmslCross-direction detection (both directions, left toright, right to left)lSmart anti-masking distinguishes between maskingspray and rainlNo vertical adjustment neededlVery low current consumptionlFront and back tamper protectionlSupports temperature and light level reportsaccording to the PowerG panelNote: For UL installations, the detector is for use withUL liste d control units onlyDevice setupWarning! Do not partially or completely obscure thedetector’s field of view. Do not install the deviceclose to tree branches as weather conditions cancause movement.Note: Alarms triggered by conditions such asweather, blowing leaves and branches, or any relatedenvironmental conditions, must be considered wheninstalling the detector.Warning! To comply with FCC and ISED Canada RFexposure compliance requirements, locate the PIRdetector at a distance of at least 20 cm from allpersons during normal operation. The antennas usedfor this produc t must not be co- loc ated or ope rated inconjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.Note: Install and use the PGx902 wireless outdoorcurtain PIRdetector with anti-masking within anenvironment that provides pollution degree max 2 andovervoltages category II in NON HAZARDOUSLOCATIONS. The equipment is designed to beinstalled by qualified service persons only.Note: Install the PGx902 in accordance with theStandard for Installation and Classification of Burglarand Holdup Alarm Systems, UL 681.Mounting the PGx902To mount the PGx902, complete the following steps:1. Mark and drill at least two holes in the mountingbracket (see Figure 2 and 3).Note: To install tamper protection on thedetector, mark and drill one hole for the tamperprotection (hole number 3, Figure 2) and twoholes in the other available slots (number 1 and 2,Figure 2).2. Fasten the bracket to the wall surface with thescrews (see Figure 4).3. Insert the batteries (see Inserting or replacing thebatteries) and close the battery cover.4. Position the detector in order to cover the protectedarea by inserting the top of the detector into thepreferred slot (see Figure 5 and 6) .Note: This will start the tamper self- calibratingprocedure, which can be seen by a yellowblinking LED.Note: When the device is inserted into thebracket, it can be rotated again to a more exactposition (see Figure 7, number 1).5. While the LED is blinking, fasten the detector tothe bracket by tightening the bottom screw (seeFigure 7, number 2).Note: If the yellow LED stops blinking before thescrew is tightened adequately, remove thedetector from the bracket and wait three seconds. Now repeat the self-calibrating procedure in step4.Figure 2:Marking screw holes Figure 3:Drilling screw holesFigure 4:Fastening the bracketFigure 5:Rotation slotFigure 6: Slotting intodeviceFigure 7:Drilling screw holesEnrollmentRefer to the DSC panel installer guide and follow theprocedure under the 02:ZONES/DEVICESoption ofthe installer menu.Note: For UL/ULC listed installations use only inconjunction with UL/ULC listed control panels.Note: When enrolling the PGx902 detector to wirelesspanels (WP80XX) with version 19.4 or lower, thedetector will be enrolled as outdoor PIR motiondetector ( ID 130-xxxx) and labeled Motion Outd. inthe panel.Refer to the panel installation manual for theenrollment procedure. A general description of theprocedure is provided in the following procedure:1. To ensure that the proper steps are used, refer tothe installation manual for the alarm system that thedevice is being enrolled on.2. From the installation menu, enter the deviceenrollment option through the specified method andselect the appropriate option to add the new device.3. Pull the enrollment tab or insert the batteries topower on the device and begin the auto-enrollmentprocess.Note: You can also enter ID:xxx-xxxx (thenumber of the device that is printed on the label),or press the enroll button on the detector to beginthe enrollment process if the device does notautomatically enroll.4. Select the desired zone number.5. Configure any device parameters that are required.6. Mount and test the detector. See Local diagnostictest/Walk test for information on testing the device. In addition, see the alarm systems installationmanual that the device is enrolled on for other testprocedures that are required. If the detector is already enrolled, you can configurethe detector parameters by programming the system, see the alarm systems installation manual for moreinformation about device parameters.Configuring the detector parametersModifying the deviceEnter the DEVICE SETTINGS menu and follow theconfiguration instructions for the PGx902 detector asdescribed in Table 2.Table 2: Modifying the deviceOption Configuring instructionsAlarmLEDActivate or deactivate the alarmLED indication.Optional settings: LED ON (default)and LED OFF.PIR range Select one of the three ranges, according to the type of installation.See Setting the detector rangeOutdooranti-maskEnable or disable the outdoor anti-masking feature.Optional settings: Disabled (default)and Enabled.AlarmhoursEnable the motion alarms always oronly when dark (at night).Note:For UL/ULC installation, whenenabled, the alarm hours feature fornight protection should only be usedas supplemental protection to theprotection already covering the area.Optional settings: Day and night(default) and Night only.AlarmdirectionDefine the detection direction.
