3. Operations
3.1 To Power On the Pager
• Press and hold the Confirm key for 3 seconds.
• Either an audio beeping tone or pager vibration will be generated as the power on
signal.
• Stop the power on signal by pressing any key, the pager will then display the
status screen.
• The pager will then enter the standby mode for power saving with the LCD turned
off.
• The status screen can be displayed again by pressing any key.
3.2 To Power Off the Pager
• Press the Function key to evoke the second function menu from the status screen.
• Press either one of the arrow keys to select the ‘ ’ icon.
• Hold the Confirm key for 3 seconds to turn off the pager.

3.3 Accessing Memory Banks
• Press the Function key to evoke the first function menu from the status screen.
• Press an arrow key to select the ‘ ’ icon and press the confirm key to access
the user memory bank.
• Press an arrow key to select the ‘ ’ icon and press the confirm key to access the
personal memory bank.
• Press an arrow key to select the ‘ ’ icon and press the confirm key to access
the news memory bank.
3.4 Receiving and Reading Messages
• The pager will generate an audio alert, a vibration alert or remain silent when
receiving a call.
• The following screen will be displayed simultaneously.
• Press any key to stop the alert.
• Press the Confirm key read the latest message.
• The pager will notify the user the number of unread messages by displaying the
‘’ icon.
• Fast message scrolling can be invoked by continuously pressing the Confirm key
(all unread messages will be displayed first).
• The following prompt message will be displayed if there is no message.

3.5 Individual Message Removal
• Recall the message to be deleted.
• Press the Function key to evoke the user memory bank menu.
• Press an arrow key to select the ‘ ’ icon.
• Press the Confirm key to delete the message.
3.6 Removing All Messages
• Press the Function key to evoke the user memory bank menu.
• Press an arrow key to select the ‘ ’ icon.
• Press Confirm key to delete all the messages.
• Protected messages will not be deleted.
3.7 Message Protection
• Up to 10 messages can be protected.
• Recall a message in the user memory bank and press the Function key to evoke
the user memory bank menu.
• Press an arrow key to select the ‘ ’ icon.
• Press the Confirm key to lock the message.
• A ‘ ’ icon would be display at the top right corner of the message screen.
• A prompt message will be displayed if there are already 10 messages protected in
the memory.

3.8 Copying Message to Personal Memory Bank
• Recall a message in the user memory bank.
• Press the Function key to evoke the user memory bank menu.
• Press an arrow key to select the ‘ ’ icon.
• Press the Confirm key to copy the message to the personal memory bank.
• A message will be prompted to the user if the personal memory is full.
• The pager will display a screen for personal alarm setting after the message has
been copied. Follow the steps outlined in Section Personal Message Alarm Setup
to set the personal alarm, or press the Confirm key to abort.
3.9 Personal Message Alarm Setup
• User can set a personal alarm to every message in the personal memory bank.
• Select a message in the personal memory bank first.
• Press the Function key to evoke the personal memory bank menu.
• Press an arrow key to select the ‘ ’ icon.
• Press the Confirm key to enter the alarm setup screen.
• Press an arrow key to toggle between ‘ ’ to proceed further or ‘ ’ to abort the
function.
• Press an arrow key to locate the date and time fields.
• Press the Confirm key to adjust the digits.

• A bell icon ‘ ’ will be displayed in every message screen if the alarm is set, the
crossed-bell icon ‘ ’ will be displayed if the alarm has been activated.
3.10 News Message Alarm Setup
• User can also set a news message alarm to every mailbox in the news memory
bank.
• After entering the news memory bank, press the Function key to evoke the news
memory bank menu.
• Press an arrow key to select the ‘ ’ icon.
• Press the Confirm key to set the alarm.
• A bell icon ‘ ’ will then be displayed in every message screen.
3.11 Real Time Clock Setup
• Press the Function key to evoke the first function menu from the status screen.
• Press an arrow key to select the ‘ ’ icon.
• Press the Confirm key to enter the real time clock setup screen.
• Press an arrow key to locate a digit as well as the time display mode for
adjustment.

• Press the Function key to adjust the time first and to toggle among the options of
time display format.
• Repeat the steps for date adjustment.
• Press the Confirm key to confirm the setting and return to the status screen.
3.12 Alert Mode Selection
• Press an arrow key to select the ‘ ’ icon in the first function menu.
• Press the Confirm key to enter the alert mode setting screen.
• The current alert mode will be displayed in the alert mode setting screen.
• Press an arrow key to select an alert mode among the options - ‘SILENT’,
‘VIBRATE’, ‘AUDIO’, ‘VIB-AUD’, and ‘EXIT’ (return to the status screen
without updating the setting).
• Press the Confirm key to confirm the setting and return to the status screen.
3.13 Appointment Alarm Setup
• User can set two appointment alarms as personal reminders in the pager.
• Press the Function key to evoke the second function menu from the status screen.
• Press an arrow key to select the ‘ ’ icon.
• Press the Confirm key to enter the appointment alarm setup screen.

• Press an arrow key to locate the alarm number and press the Function key to
select an alarm.
• Repeat the steps to select an alarm mode among the options of one-off ‘ ’, daily
‘’ and disable ‘ ’.
• If either the one-off mode or the daily mode is selected, the alarm time will be
prompted to user for alarm time setting.
• Press an arrow key to locate the time digits.
• Press the Function key to adjust the time.
• Press the Confirm key to confirm the setting and return to the status screen.
• If only one alarm is set, either the ‘ ’ or ‘ ’ icon will be displayed in the status
screen. If both alarms are set, then the ‘ ’ icon will be displayed.
3.14 Melody Selection
• Press an arrow key to select the ‘ ’ icon in the second function menu.
• Press the Confirm key to enter the melody selection screen.
• The current melody will be displayed in the melody selection screen.
• Press an arrow key to select a call type among the options ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’ and ‘D’
first.
• Press the Confirm key to confirm call type selection.
• Press an arrow key to select a melody among the standard tone and 15 melodies.
• Press the Confirm key to confirm the setting and return to the status screen.

3.15 Unread Message Alarm Adjustment
• Press an arrow key to select the ‘ ’ icon in the second function menu.
• Press the Confirm key to enter the unread message alarm adjustment screen.
• The current unread message alarm setting is displayed in the adjustment screen.
• Press an arrow key to toggle between ‘2m’ (2 minutes) and ‘--’ (disable the
function).
• Press the Confirm key to confirm the setting and return to the status screen.
3.16 Font Size Changing
• This function is not available for pager displaying Chinese or Thai.
• Press an arrow key to select the ‘ ’ icon in the second function menu.
• Press the Confirm key to toggle between large and small fonts for message
viewing.
3.17 Password Setup
• User can set up a password for the personal memory bank for security purpose.
• This function cannot be executed if battery power is depleted.
• Press the Function key to evoke the third function menu from the status screen.
• Press an arrow key to select the ‘ ’ icon.
• Press the Confirm key to enter the first password setup screen.

• User has to enter the previously set password before proceeding further (enter
‘0000’ if the pager is used for the first time).
• Press an arrow key to locate a field.
• Press the Function key to toggle the digits for password entry.
• An icon will be displayed to notify the user for password re-entry if a wrong
password is entered.
• Press an arrow key to locate a field.
• Press the Function key to toggle the digits for password entry.
• After the correct password has been entered, press the Confirm key to enter the
second password setup screen.
• Again press an arrow key to locate a field and press the Function key to toggle
the digits to change the password.
• After the password has been changed, user can move to the password
activation/deactivation field.
• Press the Function key to select a tick ‘ ’ to activate the password or select a
cross ‘ ’to deactivate the password.
• Press the Confirm key to confirm the setting and return to the status screen.

3.18 Alert Duration Adjustment
• User can adjust the duration for both standard beeping alert and vibrating alert.
• Press an arrow key to select the ‘ ’ icon in the third function menu.
• Press the Confirm key to enter the alert duration adjustment screen.
• Press an arrow key to toggle among the options of ‘2s’ (2 seconds), ‘4s’, ‘6s’
and ‘8s’.
• Press the Confirm key to confirm the setting and return to the status screen.
3.19 Auto Timer Setup
• Press an arrow key to select the ‘ ’ icon in the third function menu.
• Press the Confirm key to enter the first auto timer setup screen if no auto timer has
been set previously.
• Press the Function key to enable the auto timer first, the second auto timer setup
screen will be displayed.
• Press an arrow key to locate the digits.
• Press the Function key to adjust the time period.
• Press the Confirm key ( ) to confirm the setting and return to the status screen.
• A ‘ ’ icon will be displayed in the status screen to notify the user.

3.20 Silent Timer Setup
• Press an arrow key to select the ‘ ’ icon in the third function menu.
• Press the Confirm key to enter the silent timer setup screen.
• Press the Function key to enable the silent timer first, the second silent timer setup
screen will be displayed.
• Press an arrow key to locate the digits.
• Press the Function key to adjust the time period.
• Press the Confirm key ( ) to confirm the setting and return to the status screen.
• The ‘ ’ icon will be displayed if the silent timer has been set but not yet activated,
whereas the ‘ ’ icon will be displayed if the silent timer has been activated.
3.21 Message Display Duration Adjustment
• Press an arrow key to select the ‘ ’ icon in the third function menu.
• Press the Confirm key to enter the message display duration adjustment screen.
• Press an arrow key to toggle among the options of ‘8s’ (8 seconds), ‘12s’, ‘30s’
and ‘60s’.
• Press the Confirm key to confirm the setting and return to the status screen.

3.22 Low Battery Alert
• An hourly low voltage alert will be generated when the battery voltage drops
below a certain level.
• The ‘ ’ icon will also be displayed.
• Stop the alert by pressing any key.
• Power off the pager and replace the battery.
3.23 Illumination
• Press the Function key for 2 seconds to activate the back-lighting during message
reading or from the status screen.
