It is part of a sophisticated electronic timing andscoring system, the RMS-3.  The lightweight and compact TX3-9V device operates on a standard 9 volt alkalinebattery.   It is easy to install, operate and maintain.Operation DirectionsTX3-9V IllustrationThe TX3-9V operates on a standard 9 volt alkaline battery.  The battery can be inserted by first removing the smallPhillips head screw and removing the battery compartment lid.  Slide the battery into the compartment with theterminals of the battery coming in contact with the spring contacts as shown in the diagram below:It does not matter which battery terminal comes in contact with which spring contact.  The TX3-9V will functionwith the battery in either orientation.  Once the battery has been placed in the compartment, check to see that thegreen LED indicator light flashes.  If the red LED light flashes, it indicates the battery is weak and therefore shouldbe replaced.  If both LED lights come on, remove the battery and reinstall the battery as per the instructions above.Place the battery lid back on the TX3-9V and screw down the lid. The best possible orientation of the transmitter is shown belowwith the longest edge of  the transmitter parallel to the Start/Finish line where the loop antenna is located.MaintenanceThe TX3-9V requires minimal maintenance.  Cleaning the spring battery contacts can be done with a damp cloth orcotton swab.  The external plastic may be cleaned with a damp cloth.
