Overview
Thank you for selecting the Westhold TX3-9V transmitter. It is part of a sophisticated electronic timing and
scoring system, the RMS-3. The lightweight and compact TX3-9V device operates on a standard 9 volt alkaline
battery. It is easy to install, operate and maintain.
Operation Directions
TX3-9V Illustration
The TX3-9V operates on a standard 9 volt alkaline battery. The battery can be inserted by first removing the small
Phillips head screw and removing the battery compartment lid. Slide the battery into the compartment with the
terminals of the battery coming in contact with the spring contacts as shown in the diagram below:
It does not matter which battery terminal comes in contact with which spring contact. The TX3-9V will function
with the battery in either orientation. Once the battery has been placed in the compartment, check to see that the
green LED indicator light flashes. If the red LED light flashes, it indicates the battery is weak and therefore should
be replaced. If both LED lights come on, remove the battery and reinstall the battery as per the instructions above.
Place the battery lid back on the TX3-9V and screw down the lid. A fresh 9 volt battery will power the TX3-9V for
72+ hours.

transmitters in the same location on each vehicle. The best possible orientation of the transmitter is shown below
with the longest edge of the transmitter parallel to the Start/Finish line where the loop antenna is located.
Maintenance
The TX3-9V requires minimal maintenance. Cleaning the spring battery contacts can be done with a damp cloth or
cotton swab. The external plastic may be cleaned with a damp cloth. Do not use solvents to clean either the plastic
or the battery contacts.
