Specifications subject to change without notice.980-000037-000R1.00Infant Tag User GuideINFANT TAG OVERVIEWInfant Tag AR4TA02-00PInfant Tag w/ Tag Pulse AR4TA01-00PAs an essential part of the HALO InfantProtection System™, the Infant Tag helps toprotect and identify infants in your care.Each tag is labeled with a unique serialnumber and expiry date for easy, accurateidentification.The bottom of the tag is curved to ensure asnug and comfortable fit.Tag pulse technology allows tags to emitperiodic signals to the HALO system thatallow facilities to accurately track and locateinfants. Infant Tags are available with andwithout tag pulse technology.APPLICATIONProper banding will limit the incidence ofnuisance alarms. A properly fastened strapshould keep the bottom of the Infant Tagagainst the infant’s skin, but it shouldneither restrict the infant’s circulation norcause discomfort or chafing.eXI recommends using either the VelcroStrap or the Stockinette to attach the InfantTag. However, other options are available.For more information, contact your dealeror eXI directly.STEP 1: APPLY SECURE STRIP*Secure Strip AR3SS01-000(Roll of 1000 pre-cut adhesives)•Hold Infant Tag with topuppermost•Remove Secure Strip fromtape by slightly bendingtape, allowing strip to separate•Center strip on bottom of tag andpress firmly into place•Follow instructions for type of strap usedSTEP 2: BANDINGVelcro Strap AR3WS01-VLC(Pack of 10)•Insert velcro tab end of strap through onearm of tag. Guide it from top to bottom oftag, with tan color next to the infant’s skin•Pull taut•Peel backing from Secure Strip•Place tag on infant’s calf or upper arm•Guide tab endthrough tag’sother arm•Fold tab backover arm toadhere velcro tostrapStockinette (S  - 1.25”) AR3WS01-SMLStockinette (M - 1.625”) AR3WS01-MEDStockinette (L - 2”) AR2WSD1-SOC(Bag of 50)•Peel backing from Secure Strip•Place tag on infant’s calf orupper arm•Center stockinetteover tagCoban (3M product available from medicalsupply companies)•Peel backing from Secure Strip•Place tag on infant’s calf or upper arm•Wrap Coban around tag,covering the tagcompletely; ensure thatyou do not wrap the Cobantoo tightlyCLEANINGTAGSIn order to disinfect without causingdamage to the tags, use one of thefollowing cleaning methods:METHOD 1•Scrub each tag with germicidal solution ofapproximately 60 seconds Note: Phenolic or iodine base solution ispreferred•Wipe each tag individually (using a newalcohol wipe for each)•Allow tag to dry for 30 secondsMETHOD 2•Use cold sterilization in Cidex or TotacideNote: Do not immerse tags for more than 30minutesMETHOD 3•Use gas diffusion sterilization methodsNote: Battery leakage may occur if tags areexposed to heat in excess of 57°C (135°F)Important: Tags are incompatible withdisinfectants containing Glycol Ether.STRAPSThe Velcro Strap and the Stockinette aredisposable and intended for single use,which eliminates the need for sterilizationand disinfection. If need be, the Velcro Strapwill withstand hand washing.STORAGETag Rack AGETR02-000Store tags in eXI’s Tag Rack at roomtemperature.
