Limited Lifetime Consumer Warranty Your Warranty Page 18 Page 19 Page 3 Description of Remote Appearance Safety Information Please take these safety precautions into consideration under the following conditions: The model name, 2WAMR, stands for When servicing your automobile (i.e. changing the oil, washing your car), the Young Shin Electronics, Inc system should be in Valet Mode. There is a safety shutdown switch underthe hood that deactivates the remote starter function if the hood is open. However, if the switch has been damaged or the switch has been installed improperly,the vehicle may start when Button is pressed for 2 seconds, even if the hood is open. Whenever you loan your vehicle to an individual who is not familiar with Young Shin Electronics, Inc, you may want to put the vehicle in Valet mode. This will prevent the borrower from accidentally activating the Young Shin Electronics, Inc auto-security system. If the Young Shin Electronics, Inc 2WAMR is installed in a manual transmission vehicle, extra precautions are required because the Young Shin Electronics, Incdoes not monitor the gear shift : Under normal circumstances, Reservation Mode is cancelled when a door or hatchback opens. Please verify that the opening of any door or hatchback cancels Reservation Mode. If any of the doors or hatchback are not monitored by Young Shin Electronics, Inc because of improper installation or a faulty dome light switch, do not use the Young Shin Electronics, Inc and take your vehicle immediately to the dealer for repair. Do not set Reservation Mode if the window(s) are open or if there is anyone inside the vehicle, this includes animals. Remote start installation in a manual transmission vehicle with a convertible top is not recommended. Front Side GLO color LCD The remote-pager comes with GLO which is a unique color LCD display that visually tells the vehicle owner the security status of your car at all times. There are differing icons that will appear on your GLO LCD indicating what your vehicle is currently doing. Indicates that your remote-pager is transmitting signals to the controller unit. Indicates if you are in Valet Mode. Displays if your vehicle has auto-started properly or ignition on. Displays if your door is open. Indicates that your car siren is turned on or off when you lock or unlock the vehicle. Timer Start Mode – on/off Represents pressing the button for 2 seconds. Represents simultaneously pressing the buttons. Represents simultaneously pressing the buttons for 2 seconds. Indicates if Vibrator is on or off. Indicates that Shock sensor is turned on or off. Displays if your Hood is open. 1. Time Clock. 2. Remainder of the engine running time. Indicates if your car parking lights are flashing. Page 6 Page 7 Remote-Pager Learn Routine More Button Functions (1) Time Setting Button PressedFor Function The Young Shin Electronics, Inc. system will allow up to three remotes to be programmed to one vehicle. Please perform the following procedure to add or reprogram additional remotes. 2 sec STEP 1 Tones will sound for confirmation STEP 2 STEP 3 STEP 4 1/2 sec Time setting is on. The numbers will flash, and tones will sound. 1/2 sec Change hour. 1/2 sec Change minutes. 2 sec Time setting is off. Tones will sound. (2) RPS & Vibration mode on or off Button STEP 1 PressedFor 2 sec 1/2 sec STEP 2 1/2 sec Alarm Mode Function Tones will sound for confirmation RPS on or off, tones will sound for confirmation. Vibration mode on or off, tones will sound for confirmation. Step 2 must be completed within 15 seconds. If not, start over at step 1. You can arm or disarm alarm mode by pressing Button for a 1/2 second. Press Buttons for a 1/2second to make your car siren mute when arming or disarming your vehicle. Keep in mind that your car siren will still activate for all other modes (i.e. panic or alarm trigger) regardless of whether or not your car siren is in mute mode. The car siren will be mute only when arming or disarming your vehicle. When the alarm is armed, the starter kill function (an optional feature provided by your installer) is activated. This feature disengages the starter mechanism on your vehicle and prevents it from starting, even with a key. If you lose your remote after you have armed the vehicle, use your key to open the door. The siren will go off. Turn the ignition on then off, 5 times with your key to shut down the alarm and put the system into valet mode. You can cancel the valet mode with a remote later on. See : Valet mode, on page 10. (Siren duration is 30 to 60 sec depending on the options set at the time of initial installation.) Page 8 Page 9 Dual Stage Shock Sensor Press Buttons for 2 seconds to activate or deactivate the dual stage shock sensor. The dual stage shock sensor will activate in 30 seconds after the CompuStar alarm mode is armed. When the dual shock sensor is engaged, the remote-pager will be alerted by the following triggers: If there is a problem in auto-starting your vehicle,the Young Shin Electronics,Inc. system will do one of two things; if it fails for any of the reasons listed in the table below, it will flash the parkinglights three times then flash the error number. Otherwise, it will attempt to start the vehicle three times. If, after three times, the vehicle will not start or stay running, the Young Shin Electronics,Inc. system will shut down. In either case, please see your installer to resolve the situation. Error Number (# of times parking lights flash) Error Reason Engine On Key On Door Open Trunk Open Brake On Hood Open Reservation Off (Manual Transmission Only) Auto-Start Function Press button for 2 seconds to auto-start an automatic transmission engine. Remember, that a manual key in the ignition is required to drive the car. For manual transmission vehicles, please use reservation mode. Press button for 2 seconds in order to turn off an auto-started car. The engine will run 15 or 25 minutes (25 or 45 min for diesel) depending on preset options at the time of installation and then shut off. shows the amount of run-time left in the remote start mode. The anti-grind circuit (an optional feature provided by your installer) prevents you from engaging the starter on a remote-started vehicle. Page 10 While your vehicle is running with your key, press button for 2 seconds, you are now in the continuation mode. Your engine will continue running for the preset time even if you take your key out the ignition. For a quick stop when you don’t want to restart the vehicle. Reservation Mode (manual transmission only) In order to auto-start your manual transmission vehicle, you must first set the Young Shin Electronics, Inc system to Reservation Mode before leaving your vehicle. The purpose of Reservation Mode is to leave the transmission gear in the neutral position when you leave your vehicle. Reservation mode is intended for use on MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS ONLY and NOT FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. Reservation Mode must be engaged each and every time you leave your manual transmission vehicle in order to auto-start it. The system is not recommended for vehicles with removable tops. Page 11 Canceling Reservation Mode If you do not want to set reservation mode, shut off the engine before you exit the vehicle. The engine will shut off for the following reasons: Trunk Release Press Button for 2 seconds in order to unlock and release your trunk. Note that, the trunk release function will not only release the trunk, but will unlock all the doors as well. Query Function Your vehicle is now ready for auto-starting. However, the reservation mode will be cancelled if the door is opened or the Young Shin Electronics, Inc. system is put in Valet mode after the reservation has been set. Once cancelled, you will have to start the vehicle with the manual key and repeat the above 5 steps if you want to restore reservation mode. When the vehicle shuts off after reservation mode, the Young Shin Electronics, Inc system will lock/arm the vehicle. Take care to not lock your keys inside. If you try to auto-start the vehicle when reservation mode has not been set, the auto-start feature will not work. When you press the auto-start button, the remote will beep three times. The car parking lights will flash three times, pause, then flash seven times. Query Function allows the you to visually monitor the status of your car by looking at the remote-pager GLO LCD icons. Press button for a 1/2 second to activate the Query Function. Panic Mode Press button for 2 seconds to enter Panic Mode. In this mode, the car will arm, if not armed already, and the siren/horn will activate and the parking lights will flash. In order to disengage Panic Mode, press button for a 1/2 second. Then, press button for a 1/2 second to unlock/disarm your vehicle. If Anti-Jacking option has been programmed (ask your dealer if you would like to have this option) and the Ignition-Kill has been installed , the Panic Mode works as Anti-Jacking if the key is in the ignition. If Anti-Jacking mode is activated while key is in the ignition, a)The siren will go off for 1.5 minutes, and b) Ignition-Kill will be activated after the first 30 seconds. This is to give a 30 second warning to the hijacker, then to disconnect the ignition to stop the vehicle. Page 12 Page 13 Valet Mode RPS (Remote Paging System) While the vehicle is in valet mode, only the keyless entry function will be available. Valet Mode is very useful when loaning your vehicle or having it serviced. In order to enter Valet mode, press Buttons simultaneously for a 1/2 second. In order to manually enter Valet Mode, insert your key into the ignition and turn five times within 10 seconds. the ignition on, then off, You can exit Valet Mode only by pressing Buttons simultaneously for a 1/2 second. The optional RPS is a feature that allows an individual to page you by simply tapping on the front windshield of the vehicle. RPS is automatically turned on upon activating alarm mode (pressing button I for a 1/2 second) on the Young Shin Electronics, Inc. 2WAMR . The RPS module can be activated by tapping a key on the glass, opposite of the sensor, producing a high-frequency vibration. This high-frequency vibration is detected and your remote-pager will beep and a telephone icon will appear on the GLO LCD indicating that someone is paging you from your vehicle. Press Button or for a 1/2 second to deactivate the RPS visual and audible paging alerts. OPTIONAL PROGRAMMABLE FEATURES These additional programmable features can be programmed to the Young Shin Electronics, Inc. system by your authorized Young Shin Electronics, Inc. dealer. Timer Start Mode In Timer Start Mode, your car automatically starts every 1.5 or 3.0 hours, depending on preset options during the time of installation, for a 24-hour period. This mode is cancelled automatically after 24 hours or once you start your car with either the key or remote-pager. In order to enter Timer Start Mode, press Buttons simultaneously for a 1/2 second. Also, note that Timer Start Mode becomes optional temperature sensor is installed. once an Timer Start Mode should be used only in open areas. Never start and run the vehicle in an enclosed space such as a garage or carport. Ignition Lock This progammable option will automatically lock the vehicle doors once the key is in the ignition and the brake pedal is pressed. The doors will unlock as soon as the key is removed from the ignition. This progammable option will automatically lock the vehicle doors once the key is in the ignition and the brake pedal is pressed. The doors will automatically unlock when the emergency brake is set while the vehicle is running with the key. Passive Arming Safety Shut Down Features The Young Shin Electronics, Inc. 2WAMR system has several shut down safety features. The following actions will shut down the engine or prevent the car from auto-starting : Opening the hood, pressing the brake, or if Valet Mode is turned on. for a 1/2 second. You can turn this function on or off by pressing buttons When set to passive arming, your security system will arm automatically 30 seconds after all the car doors are closed. There are two types of passive arming that can be programmed by your Young Shin Electronics, Inc dealership: (1) passive arming with passive lock and (2) passive arming with active lock. Page 14 Page 15 Passive locking means the door will lock when the system passively arms. In the default factory setting, the system is armed and locked actively, which means the system will only arm/lock when the remote-pager is utilized. OPTIONAL INSTALLATION FEATURES The Young Shin Electronics, Inc 2WAMR remote-pager has additional features and expansion possibilities that may require additional parts and labor. Cold Start Mode Turbo Mode you can turn this feature on and off by pressing Buttons for a 1/2 second. In this mode, if the emergency brake has been set, the engine will continue to run after the key has been taken out of the ignition. It will run until two minutes after the emergency brake has been set. To utilize this mode, the emergency brake sensing wire has to be connected to the emergency brake wire of the vehicle. Consult the authorized dealer for this mode. This option is ideal for turbo-charged vehicles because it allows the turbo too slowly cool after operation. Page 16 Timer Start Mode becomes Cold Start Mode. In this mode, your car will automatically start if the temperature of the inside of the vehicle goes below the preset temperature. The minimum interval between the starts will be 1.5 or 3.0 hours depending on preset options during the time of installation. Cold Start Mode is activated or deactivated by pressing Buttons for a 1/2 second. Optional Auxiliary 1 & Auxiliary 2 The auxiliary output system is an optional feature that can be tailored for your vehicle by your local authorized Young Shin Electronics, Inc dealership. For example, you can customize your car to have remote power control of your windows, radio, and sunroof in addition to the rooftop on your convertible car. Page 17 Limited Lifetime Consumer Warranty Young Shin Electronics, Inc. Warrants to the original purchaser that this product shall be free of defects in material and workmanship under normal use and circumstances for the period of time that the original owner of this product owns the vehicle in which it is installed ; except that the remote controller unit for the period of one year from the date of installation to the original owner of this product. When the original purchaser returns the product to the retail store where it was purchased or prepaid postal to Young Shin Electronics, Inc., 3415 S. 116th St Seattle, WA 98168, USA within the warranty period, and if the product is defective,Young Shin Electronics, Inc., will at its option repair or replace such.
