section 01 2. PRINTER Re move t h e pr inter f rom it s box and p lace it on the 2 n d shelf of the comp uter car t. Fol lowing the instructions from the printer box, inser t the ink car tridges and plug in the p ower c ord a nd US B c a b le. Once the comp uter is running and the p rinter is turne d on , p r int a tes t pa ge. 3. CPU Re move t h e C P U (c omputer tower) from its box and p lace it on the 3 rd shelf of th e com p uter c a r t . P lug in t h e powe r cord, monitor serial cable, and p rinter USB cable. 4. SPEAKERS Remove the speakers from their box and place them on the 3 rd shelf of the compu te r car t . P lug t h e c a b le f rom t h e lef t sp eaker into the desig nated jack on the rig ht s p e a ke r. N ex t , plug t h e power c ord in to the desig nated jack on the rig ht sp eaker. Finally, p l u g th e s pea ker c a b le, w h ic h is a t t ached to the rig ht sp eaker into the CPU. 5. KEYBOARD & MOUSE Remove the keyboard and mouse from their box. Place the keyboard on the auxiliar y s h elf of t h e c omputer c a r t and p lug the cord into the CPU. Place the mouse on th e top s h elf of t h e c omputer c a r t and p lug the cord into the CPU. 6. WIRELESS HUB Locate the wireless Hub and place it on the 2 n d shelf of the computer c a r t . Note t h a t inside of the Hub are mag nets, which are intended to keep the Hub stable on the shelf. Secure the 2 n d antenna (from Step 6 of âSetting up the MCU Stationâ) to the Hub ( F i g u r e 1 - 1 2 ) . P l u g t h e U S B c a b l e i n to t h e C P U. Note that is impor tant to store the Hub in a location such that its a n tenna is a t lea s t 3 feet f rom the antenna at the top of the MCU. Fig u r e 1-12. P l acem en t of H u b 7. ISOLATION TRANSFORMER Locate the isolation transformer and its power cord and place i t nex t to t h e d es igna ted wall outlet. Attach the comp uter car t cable, which is located at the bottom back of the car t, to the i sola t ion t r a ns for mer. P lug one end of the isolation transformer p ower c ord into t h e is ola t ion transformer and the other end into t h e d es igna ted wa ll out let . If an extension cord cannot be avoid e d , us e no les s t h a n 14 ga ug e wire. Keep the cord as shor t as p ossible, and use on l y h o spit a l a pproved plugs .
