2. Mount the Transceiver unit
To install the cellular telephone with the transceiver unit located in the trunk-space of the
automobile follow the steps outlined below.
a. Place the mounting bracket so that the
four bracket holes line up with the transceiver holes.
b. Replace the four screws (supplied M4 ×
6mm) in the screw kit so that the mounting bracket is secured to the transceiver
unit.
c. Place the unit top-side up (bracket feet
down), utilizing the included flatwashers,
insert the four self-tapping screws (supplied M4 × 35mm) and tighten them
down.
3. Wiring
a. Connect the cables to the mounted transceiver unit using the supplied trunk mount
extension cable as illustrated.

4. Mount the Cradle and Handset

can be mounted as displayed. Be sure
to use only supplied M4 × 10mm screws.

READ THIS INFORMATION BEFORE USING
YOUR MOBILE CELLULAR TELEPHONE
The cellular telephone is one of the most exciting and innovative electronic products ever developed. With it you can
stay in contact with your office, your home, emergency services, and others.
For the safe and efficient operation of your phone,
observe these guidelines.
Your mobile cellular telephone is a radio transmitter and receiver. When the phone is ON, the antenna is the part of the
phone that sends out and receives radio frequency (RF) energy. The phone operates in the frequency range of 824 MHZ
to 894 MHZ and employs commonly used frequency modulation (FM) techniques. When you use your phone, the cellular system handling your call controls the power level at
which your phone transmits. The power level can range from
0.006 of a watt to 3 watts.
EXPOSURE TO RADIO FREQUENCY ENERGY
In 1991 the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers
(IEEE), and in 1992 the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) updated the 1982 ANSI Standard for safety levels with respect to human exposure to RF energy. Over 120
scientists, engineers, and physicians from universities, government health agencies, and industry, after reviewing the
available body of research, developed this updated Standard.
In March, 1993, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) proposed the adoption of this updated Standard.
To operate within this updated ANSI Standard, use your
phone as described under “Efficient Phone Operation.”
EFFICIENT PHONE OPERATION
Do not operate your mobile cellular telephone when holding the
antenna, or when any person is within 4 inches (10 centimeters)
of the antenna.
A person or object within 4 inches (10 centimeters) of the antenna could impair call quality, cause your phone to operate at a

higher power level than necessary, and expose that person to RF
energy in excess of that established by the updated ANSI Standard.
For best call quality, keep the antenna free from obstructions
and point it straight up.
If you want to limit RF exposure even further than the updated
ANSI Standard, maintain a distance from the antenna of more
than 4 inches (10 centimeters). Of course, you may also choose
to control the duration of your calls.
ANTENNA CARE AND REPLACEMENT
Do not use the phone with a damaged antenna. If a damaged
antenna comes into contact with the skin, a minor burn may result. Replace a damaged antenna immediately. Consult your
manual to see if you may change the antenna yourself. If so, use
only a manufacturer approved antenna. Otherwise, have your
antenna repaired by a qualified technician.
Use only the supplied or an approved antenna. Non-approved
antennas, modifications, or attachments could impair call quality, damage the phone, and violate FCC regulations.
DRIVING
Check the laws and regulations on the use of cellular telephones in the areas where you drive. Always obey them. Also,
when using your phone while driving, please:
• give full attention to driving,
• use hands-free operation, if available, and
• pull off the road and park before making or answering a
call if driving conditions so require.
ELECTRONIC DEVICES
Most modern electronic equipment is shielded from RF energy. However, RF energy from cellular telephones may affect inadequately shielded electronic equipment.
RF energy may affect improperly installed or inadequately
shielded electronic operating and entertainment systems in
motor vehicles. Check with the manufacturer or its representative to determine if these systems are adequately
shielded from external RF energy. You should also check
with the manufacturer of any equipment that has been added
to your vehicle.
Consult the manufacturer of any personal medical devices
(such as pacemakers, hearing aids, etc.) to determine if they
are adequately shielded from external RF energy.

Turn your phone OFF in health care facilities when any regulations posted in the areas instruct you to do so. Hospitals
or health care facilities may be using equipment that could
be sensitive to external RF energy.
AIRCRAFT
Turn your phone OFF before boarding any aircraft.
• Use it on the ground only with crew permission.
• Do not use it in the air.
To prevent possible interference with aircraft systems, U.S.
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations require
you to have permission from a crew member to use your
phone while the plane is on the ground. To prevent interference with cellular systems, FCC regulations prohibit using
your phone while the plane is in the air.
CHILDREN
Do not allow children to play with your phone. It is not a
toy. Children could hurt themselves or others (by poking
themselves or others in the eye with the antenna for example).
Children also could damage the phone, or make calls that
increase your telephone bills.
BLASTING AREAS
To avoid interfering with blasting operations, turn your unit
OFF when in a “blasting area” or in areas posted: “Turn off
two-way radio”. Construction crews often use remote control RF devices to set off explosives.
POTENTIALLY EXPLOSIVE ATMOSPHERES
Turn your phone OFF when in any area with a potentially
explosive atmosphere. It is rare, but your phone or its accessories could generate sparks. Sparks in such areas could
cause an explosion or fire resulting in bodily injury or even
death.
Areas with a potentially explosive atmosphere are often, but
not always, clearly marked. They include fueling areas such
as gas stations; below deck on boats; fuel or chemical transfer or storage facilities; areas where the air contains chemicals or particles, such as grain, dust, or metal powders; and
any other area where you would normally be advised to turn
off your vehicle engine.
Do not transport or store flammable gas, liquid, or explosives in the compartment of your vehicle which contains your
phone or accessories.

Your phone will be switched on or off with the vehicle's DC
power as you turn the ignition key. If your phone remains
off after switching on ignition (or vice versa), press and hold
p. Upon power up, your own phone number will be displayed momentarily.
Note: When “NO SVC ” (No Service) is displayed, you
cannot place or receive calls as the “Cellular System” is not available.
To turn off your phone, press and hold p again.

To Correct Entered Digits:
• Press c to erase the last digit entered.

To View Whole Number (Hidden Digits):
Although you can enter up to 32 digits, the display can show
the last 14 digits only. To view the whole number, press and
hold f key. The hidden digits (over 14 digits) and the last 14
digits will scroll displaying “P1” (for the last 14 digit), “P2”
(for the next 14 digits) and “P3” (for the rest of upper digits).
Call-in Progress Protection
Even if p is pressed during conversation, your call is not
interrupted.
RECEIVING CALLS
1. When an incoming call is attempted, an alert tone will
sound and “CALL” will flash repeatedly.
2. Press any key except p, e, ^, and v.
The I will light and you can talk with the other party.
3. To terminate your call, press e.
Call in Absence Indication
If calls go unanswered, “CALL ” and the number of unanswered calls will appear in the 2-digit display.
To clear the display, press c.
Silent Incoming Calls
When this feature is activated, a single beep and a flashing
“CALL” message will alert you of an incoming call.
Note: If the Silent Incoming Calls is activated, “Silent
Alert on” will be displayed when your phone is
powered up.

Last Three Numbers Dialed
You can display and redial any of the last three telephone
numbers you tried to call.
1. Select one of the telephone numbers out of three.
• Press R/S , #, 0 to display the most recent number.
• Press R/S , #, 1 to display the second most recent
number.
• Press R/S , #, 2 to display the third most recent
number.

“Alert”. Press ^ or v to adjust the Alert Volume.
Keypad Tone Volume
In standby mode, press ^ or v to raise or lower the keypad
tone volume level.

You can restrict outgoing calls except for the Programmable

SCRATCH PAD MEMORY
As a sort of numerical note pad, you can enter up to 7 entries in special memory locations (memory locations 90 to
96) of up to 32 digits each. Also, you can place a call from
the scratch pad memory. The 8th entry scrolls the scratch
pad memory and the number entered first is erased.
Note: Contents of the scratch pad memory will not be
cleared even if the phone is turned off.
Storing Numbers in the Scratch Pad Memory
1. Press c and enter a number you wish to store (up to 32
digits).

emergency or priority purpose. The memory location 97 is
reserved for this purpose.

3. Enter 9, 7 while the telephone number is blinking.
4. Press c to clear the display.
Dialing the Emergency and Priority Number

CALL RESTRICTION
In the call restriction mode, only specific keys are effective
to prevent unauthorized operation of the phone. Only the
following keys are operative to place a call.
1) Any combination of numbers 1 and 2 for a call:
• R/S + (1, 2, 11, 12, 21, 22) + s
2) Emergency Calls:
• R/S + 9 + 7 + s
•9+1+1+s
•0+0+0+s

3) One Touch Emergency Call:
• Holding 1 for 2 seconds.
Note: You can receive a call even if the phone is in the
call restriction mode.
To Activate Call Restriction
1. Press f, *, 5.
2. Enter the 3-digit Call Restriction code.

check the initial Call Restriction code.
“CR” will be displayed to indicate that call restriction is in effect.
Note: The call restriction is effective until it is deactivated. When the power is turned on, “CR” will be
displayed. (“Locked” will be displayed if the phone
is locked.)
To Exit Call Restriction Mode:
While “CR” is displayed, enter the 3-digit Call Restriction
code. Then, “Regular” will be displayed. To clear the display, press c.
To Change the Call Restriction Code
1. Press f. #, 5, 2.
“Restr. Pre?” will be displayed.
2. Enter the current 3-digit Call Restriction code.
“Restr. New?” will be displayed.
3. Enter a new 3-digit Call Restriction code except 911,

Dual Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF), or “Keypad Tone” signals can be transmitted during a call by entering digits on
the keypad or recalling numbers from the memory. By sending the DTMF signals, you can access special services such
as voice mail and answering machines that require long duration tone.
Keypad (DTMF) Tones Duration Selection
To toggle the Long Tone and Short Tone for the time duration of DTMF tones, press f, #, 8.
Keypad (DTMF) Tones Mute during conversation
To mute the keypad (DTMF) tone, press f, 3 during
conversation.
To enable the keypad (DTMF) tones, press f, 3 again
during conversation.
Sending DTMF Tones During a Call
From the Keypad:
1. During a call, press any key on the keypad.
From the Memory:
1. During a call, press R/S , *.
2. Enter a 2-digit memory location (01-89).
TIMER AND COUNTER FUNCTIONS
Elapsed Time Display
You can display the elapsed time of the current call or last
call while not in use.
1. Press f, *, 3, 0.
“Time mm:ss” will be displayed. (mm: Minutes, ss:
Seconds)
2. Press c to exit this mote.
Note: The time count will automatically reset to 00:00
after 99 minutes and 59 seconds.

Temporary Accumulated Call Counter
You can display the temporary accumulated number of calls.

To exit this mode, press c.
To reset the total number to 0000, press *, c.
Note: The call counter will automatically reset to 0 after
9,999 calls.

Call Time Warning Tone
You can turn the Call Time Warning Tone on and off. When
it is set to on, a single warning tone will be heard every 1
minute and a double warning tone will be heard every 5
minutes during a call.
To Turn the Warning Tone ON:

“Beep Tone on” will be displayed.
2. Press c to clear the display.
To Turn the Warning Tone OFF:
Press f,*,1again while not in use. On/off toggles and

SID MANAGEMENT (PROGRAMMABLE
OPTION)
You can take advantage of a family of SID (System Identification) groups by this Programmable option. This is a group
of cellular systems in cities that your carrier owns or has
special billing arrangements with. Your close family SID’s
will be billed at the same rate as your home billing. (Both
NO SVC and R are off.) More distant family SID’s will
be billed at a preferred rate. Your phone will display solid
R. When flashing R is displayed, you are using a
SID system that is not included in the groups assigned at the
time of programming.
If your display indicates NO SVC, you will need to change
your A/B system selection or, please refer to Multiple City
Registration to change phone registration to enable you to
make a call.
Note: For specific information regarding special billing
arrangements, please consult your cellular service
provider.
A/B SYSTEM SELECTION
You can select the system you need to use. The system that
you are registered with is the preferred system and your home
system.
1. Press f, 6.
2. Press ^ or v until your desired system is displayed.
3. Press R/S .
Note: When you turn the phone on, the phone will start
to scan the system of the last power-off.

Standard Mode:
Your phone will scan the preferred system channels. If unable to find an acceptable preferred channel, your phone
switches to scan the non-preferred system channels. “A B”
will light in the display.
System A Only Mode:
Your phone will scan the system A only. “A” will light in the
display.
System B Only Mode:
Your phone will scan the system B only. “B” will light in the
display.
Home Mode:
Your phone will scan preferred system and Brother/Sister
system channels.
You can place or receive calls only within your Home area.
Family Mode:
Your phone will scan both systems A and B regardless of
Brother/Sister or Cousin system channels.
MULTIPLE CITY REGISTRATION
You can reprogram the different phone numbers for the cities in which you are registered. Each programmed phone
number will be designated as your home system.
Note: To use this feature, you must register your phone
with the carrier in order to get both the system ID
number and your phone number.
To Program the Phone Number:
1. Press c, then enter the new system ID number (5 digits).
2. Enter corresponding phone number including your area
code (10 digits)
3. Press f, #, #.
4. Enter the 3-digit Unlock code.
After programming the new number, your phone automatically wakes up again, and displays the new phone
number.
Note: Calls are placed or received using the programmed
phone number only.

The feature operation on the following pages pertains to “Enhanced Features” that may be offered by your cellular service provider. Before you can use these features, you must
subscribe to them through your home cellular service provider.
Please note: These optional network services may not be
available in all areas.
Caller ID
When your phone receives a call, “CALL” blinks and the
caller’s phone number is displayed. The caller’s phone number is also displayed in Call Waiting.
To answer the call, press any key except p, e, ^, and
v as usual.
If you do not answer the call, the number of unanswered
call and the caller’s phone number will remain in the display.
Call Back Number
• When Call Back Number is received in standby mode,
“CALL BACK” will be displayed. Press R/S , R/S , and use ^/
v keys to view the Call Back Number.
• When Call Back Number is received during alert, “CALL”
blinks and the Call Back Number is displayed.
• When Call Back Number is received during conversation,
the Call Back Number is displayed.
Voice Mail Notification
• When Voice Mail Message is received in standby mode,

Memory Stack
Your phone has a 30 memory stack for data and messages
and one independent memory stack for Voice Mail Notification. When there is an unreviewed message in standby mode,
the a indicator blinks.
Press R/S and hold R/S for 2 seconds to see the number of
stored and unreviewed messages. Then press any key except p, e, ^ , and v to see the stored messages.

Read your Warranty carefully, with the special consideration
to paragraph seven of the Limited Warranty for your unit.
“Warranty does not apply to... or to any product or part

Many companies are making look-alike accessories and in
some cases, promoting that their product is equal to or better than the Audiovox product. Be careful. Some of these
products may not be compatible for use with your Audiovox

If service is required on your unit, and it is determined that
a non-Audiovox accessory has created the problem with your
