Chapter 1 IntroductionSafetyRequirementsProductLabelingIntermec assumes no responsibility as regardsfulfilling the CEDirective if the printer is handled, modifiedor installed in any way other than thatdescribed in Intermec's manuals.Caution• Read this manual carefully beforeconnecting the printer.• Moving parts are exposed when the sidedoor is open, so ensure• that the door is closed before you operatethe printer.• Do not open the front/left-hand cover.Dangerous voltage!• Do not remove the bottom plate. Dangerousvoltage!• Do not put your fingers inside the printmechanism when the power is on.• Do not operate printer with side door openor feed plate removed.• Place the printer on an even surface whichcan support its weight of approximately 7kgs (15.5 lbs) plus supplies.• Do not spray the printer with water. Ifusing a hose to clean thepremises in an industrial environment,remove the printer orprotect it carefully from spray andmoisture.• Carefully read the warning text on theenvelope before usinga cleaning card.The machine sign is attached to the printer'srear plate and containsinformation on type, model and serial numberas well as mainvoltage. It also contains various signs ofapproval.
