Introduction
Attaching the Tag
• Tag wiggles, but won’t rotate easily.
The Hugs ® tag with BabySense ™ functionality is part of the Hugs infant protection system. The tag is attached to the

the moment of attachment, the infant is
automatically enrolled in the system, and
protected against abduction.
• Back of tag and strap are touching
the baby’s skin.
• Tag has been admitted properly in
the system.

cleaner.
• Do not soak the tag or immerse it when
cleaning.
• Thoroughly rinse the tag with water
after cleaning
• Do not use an autoclave to clean the tag
or serious damage may result.
Handling Information
Battery Handling - this device contains a
lithium battery. Do not force open, heat to
212°F (100°C), or dispose of in fire.
The Hugs tag is reusable, and does not
interfere with other hospital or personal
medical equipment.
The patented asymmetrical shape of the tag
ensures that it does not pinch or irritate the
baby’s skin, and also helps prevent it from
being kicked off, while still allowing the
ankle joint to move freely.
Check the following:
1 Wrap tag around baby’s ankle, and
insert loose end of strap into second
tag slot.
2 Pull strap through until tag is snug
and won’t rotate. The bottom
(black) side of the tag and the strap
must be firmly in contact with the
baby’s skin.
