3NOTE: 1. The FM antenna connector used to connect the FM DirectAdapter to the vehicle audio/stereo system may requirean additional antenna adapter depending on the type ofvehicle. Professional installation is recommended.2. The Audiovox FM Direct Adapter may be tie-wrapped toexisting wire harnesses or other under-dash structures.The adapter should be constrained in some way to helpprevent it from causing rattles and other noise, or chafing tovehicle wiring. Interconnection Procedure Interconnection Procedure1. Connect the cable marked “TO XM RADIO” on the FM Direct adapterinto the XM antenna in jack on the XM vehicle dock or on the side of the receiver.2. Connect the cable marked “TO FM ANT” on the FM Direct adapter tothe vehicle FM antenna cable. (Optional antenna adapter may berequired, Refer to NOTE.)3. Connect the vehicle FM antenna cable lead to the cable marked“TO FM RADIO” on the FM Direct adapter. (Optional antenna adaptermay be required, Refer to NOTE.)4. Connect the XM antenna into the jack marked “XM ANT” located onthe side of the FM Direct Adapter.5. Your FM Direct Adapter receives power from your XM radio receiver.No additional external power source is required.
4Changing the Transmitting FrequencyThe FM Direct Adapter allows you to input the signal from your XMRadio receiver directly into your vehicle’s radio.You can select the frequency on which the broadcast is sent from yourXM radio receiver controls. (See your XM radio user manual for moreinformation.) Set your vehicle’s radio to the same FM frequency as theone selected for your XM radio receiver.XMFM1 OperationXMFM1 OperationTurning on the Audiovox FM Direct AdapterWith the ignition on, the FM Direct Adapter is always on in a standbycondition. When you turn on your XM radio receiver, the adapter willautomatically switch the vehicle FM signal input from your FM antennato the XM Audio signal.
5WarrantyAUDIOVOX ELECTRONICS CORPORATION (the Company) warrants to the original retail purchaser of thisproduct that should this product or any part thereof, under normal use and conditions, be proven defective inmaterial or workmanship within 12 months from the date of original purchase, such defect(s) will be repaired orreplaced with new or reconditioned product (at the Company's option) without charge for parts and repair labor.To obtain repair or replacement within the terms of this Warranty, the product is to be delivered with proof ofwarranty coverage (e.g. dated bill of sale), specification of defect(s), transportation prepaid, to an approvedwarranty station or the Company at the address shown below.This Warranty does not extend to the elimination of externally generated static or noise, to costs incurred forinstallation, removal or reinstallation of the product, damage to speakers, accessories, or vehicle and homeelectrical systems, malfunction of satellite transmissions, repeater signal or receiver unit.This Warranty does not apply to any product or part thereof which, in the opinion of the Company, has sufferedor been damaged through alteration, improper installation, mishandling, misuse, neglect, accident, or byremoval or defacement of the factory serial number/bar code label(s). THE EXTENT OF THE COMPANY'SLIABILITY UNDER THIS WARRANTY IS LIMITED TO THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT PROVIDEDABOVE AND, IN NO EVENT, SHALL THE COMPANY'S LIABILITY EXCEED THE PURCHASE PRICE PAIDBY PURCHASER FOR THE PRODUCT.This Warranty is in lieu of all other express warranties or liabilities. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES,INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE DURA-TION OF THIS WRITTEN WARRANTY. ANY ACTION FOR BREACH OF ANY WARRANTY HEREUN-DER INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY MUST BE BROUGHT WITHIN APERIOD OF 48 MONTHS FROM DATE OF ORIGINAL PURCHASE.
